L U K E

It's been three weeks since I've seen Sophia, I've grown to miss her and to crave her. She's the thoughts that pass through my mind when I wake up, when I feed, and when I sleep. It's an obsession that keeps my wild hunger constantly nagging at my overwhelmed mind.

Her.

My senses are hyped when I'm around her. It's like animal instinct. I can't ever get to know her, otherwise my nature will be compromised.

Do you think that's what dad said before he married mum? Well, they both died in the end. So I guess that's a matter of opinion.

My thoughts bickered back and forth with each other until I entered the Thoughts for Hope center. The cool air bit and nibbled at my pale skin as I made my way to the front desk.

The woman looked up from typing at her computer.

"Yes?" She asked a bit annoyed.

"Is Sophia here. I would like to give her something." I tapped nervously on the back of my palm.

I don't know what was wrong with me, all I know it I need to see her.

"Let me check..." She paused as she picked up a phone and dialed Sophia's room.

After 25 seconds of hearing faint ringing from the speaker of the phone, I knew she wasn't there.

"I'm sorry, she doesn't even appear to be clocked in. Maybe she is done with her hours." I furrowed my eye brows.

"Hours?" I asked, she nodded.

"She was doing this for school credits. Something like that. Anyway, if I see her around the center, I'll let her know that you stopped by." I nodded and walked out of the center.

I felt kinda sad that she wasn't there.
I just needed to make sure she was okay after what happened last week.

I was welcomed home by an unfamiliar scent. I shrugged it off and walked into my kitchen.

As I opened the fridge I heard shuffling coming from behind me. Thinking that it was one of the boys, I just ignored it and grabbed a blood bag that I stole from the hospital.

I closed the fridge and turned around, only to meet a very familiar face.

"Hailey." I glared at the girl who had dirty blonde hair and fair skin.

"Hello brother. I knocked, but no one was here. So, I just let myself in." She smirked. Her accent was thick, she still lived in Sydney I guess.

"What are you doing here, Hailey?" I walked around her and twisted the cap off of the bag.

I poured the contents into two separate glasses. She took one and I took a swig of my own.

The familiar copper taste nipped at my taste buds and I realized how long it's been since I've had hospital blood.

"I have some unfinished business with someone here in town. I think you know her... quite well actually." My sister flashed a sinister smile and she winked, then disappeared.

Sophia.
