Isadora

As I walk through the corridors towards the library I sense someone walking up behind me. I whirl around only to discover a gaurd approaching.
"I did not mean to alarm you, your higness", he said taking a deep bow.
"I've told you many times. Call me Isadora or Izzy", I reply putting my hands on my hips.
"Fine. Isadora your father has requested your presence in the throne room. There is about to be a very important visitor. He was just spotted leaving the tavern", he replied.
"Does that mean I'm required to wear a dress?"I asked sighing. I hated dresses.
"Yes. Hurry. The visitor is almost here" the gaurd said turning on his heel. Taking one last sigh I begin to sprint down the corridor towards my rooms. I hope Skylar is already there.
"ISADORA!" the gaurd shouts after me. But my long legs soon carry me around the corner and to my room. Barely winded a open the door to my rooms and go straight to the dressing room. Where I find Skylar sitting.
"Iz. I thought you were at the library", skylar asks as I pick out a beautiful white gown with blue swirls that brings out my electric blue eyes. Pulling my long jet black hair into a bun I reply.
"I was. But father needs me in the throne room."
"Lets go", Sky says standing. Letting her blond hair fall down to her waist. As we walk out into the coridor she adds, "race you." as we bolt through the coridors laughing. When we reach the throne room I sit on my throne still smiling.
"Isadora", my father barks, "this is serious business."
"Yes father", I reply just as the doors to the throne room are thrown open. I sit a little taller and keep my chin up. Just as a young wixard about 20 walks in. He is good looking I guess. He has short brown hair and blond highlights with cognac eyes. He is 6'2 which makes him look really short standing next to the other members of the court.
"Raziel. I see you are still evading the high king", my father said from atop his giant throne. My eyes widened slightly as I realized a 19 year old wanted dead criminal was in our palace. I smiled. This was going to be fun. I love some adventure.
"I can't say it's been easy.", Raziel replied.
"I have a job for you. That shall pay well upon the completion of the task", father spoke again.
"What does this task entail?"
" Your task is to bring a very valuable object across the boarder to the Eastern Elves without the high Kings' knowledge", the elf King said. I nodded slightly. So that was what all the commotion in the court was over last week. The gossip was that it was a magical creature that belonged in the east. But I knew better and that it was just a lie father told.
"I heard it was a human", Sky breathed into my ear.
"It is. I was in the dungeons earlier and I saw him", I replied with the slightest turn of my head.
"Ok. What am I dealing with a gemstone, a rug, a family pet?"
"Bring in the prisoner", the king barked. Four guards entered pulling a human along. He was a short little thing but had broad shoulders. I could barely see his eyes because shaggy dark brown hair hid them away.
"Or a human.....fair enough." Raziel said as he moved closer to the human who collasped in clump on the floor.
"Can you transfer him over the boarder to the east? Or do I need to find another petty criminal", my father said. Spitting out the word criminal.
"I can but transporting people is more difficult, I'll also need half the pay upfront." Raziel said stalking back to the center of the room.
"I should turn you into the high king. But yet I'm trusting a scum like you with my most dearest being", my father said. I turned and gave him a disgusted look.
"That I can't just kill and throw in the river", father added giving me the closest thing he gives as s smile.
"Yeah cause I could very well out fight you", I mumbled.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!?" Father boomed.
"Well... I said that I could out fight you", I said with a smirk.
"You wouldn't dare!" Father started.
"Half the pay upfront or no deal. And good luck finding another 'criminal' who would be able to do this."Raziel said cutting in. I think father completely forgot he was there. But he turned his anger on him.
"HOW DARE YOU CUT ME OFF WHEN TRYING TO SCOLD MY DAUGHTER FOR TALKING OUT OF PLACE!!" He yelled giving both Raziel and myself a glare. I shot daggers right back.
Raziel simply crossed his arms across his chest giving father a annoyed look.
"YOU COME TO MY KINGDOM! AND YOU CUT ME OFF AGAIN AND AGAIN", father continued.
"I cut you off once. I will not stand here and be insulted so have fun finding someone else who hasn't been caught." he replied.
"Your majesty. Calm down. We have serious business", the head guard said.
"We do. Take the prisoner back to the dungeon. We will discuss more on the task over breakfast. Meet in the dining hall in twenty minutes", father said before standing up and stalking out. I stood, gave Raziel a quick smile and turned on my heal a walked gracefully out with Skylar trailing behind. As soon as we were out the back door of the throne and the door had closed I burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Sky asked.
"Did you see Father's face. He got so mad", I managed to get out between laughs.
" You shouldn't laugh at someone who could have you killed in seconds", Sky said starting down the corridor.
"One, they could never catch me. Two, all the guards love me. Three, I could deflect arrows. I always have my daggers at my finger tips", I said starting down the hallway.
"Let's get something to eat", Sky said in response.
"I'm changing first. He's a criminal. I don't need a stupid dress. I couldn't care less about what father will say. I hate this torture device.", I said taking a right towards my room.
"I love gowns. They make me feel fancy. Princess", Sky replied putting emphasis on the princess part.
"Call me that again I'll kill you within seconds. Without my daggers", I said before Turning into my rooms and slamming the door before Sky even had the chance to follow or reply.
