*Will*

We saddled up and Raziel took the lead. Viviana rode on his left. I rode behind them and the elves took up the rear. The two friends took out their bows and strung them. Then they place their quivers on their backs. Then they began removing daggers from various pockets and hiding spots on their bodies. Each dagger they shoved in a sheath at their belts. Getting sharper and deadlier as they went. I counted five pairs for Skylar and six for Isadora. We took the horses about a mile down the border. The trip was about ten minutes.
"Well wasn't that an exciting, but lengthy trip," Isadora said from behind her voice dripping with sarcasm breaking silence I didn't even notice in my anticipation.
"Thank you Princess. We all needed that right now," Viviana said matching her sarcasm.
"Sorry for lightening the mood Kill-Joy", Isadora replied directing her comment to Viviana.
"Is this the time to be picking fights,"Skylar whispered in astern tone.
"I can't think of a better time," Isadora replied. Raziel turned raising an eyebrow but he dismounted.
"We need to figure out how to get this border to open," Viviana said as she dismounted. Soon the elves and I followed suit.
"We put the compass on that rock," Isadora said sounding bored and pointing to a rock next to a gate.
"No. That won't work. Way too easy. How about we trace the pattern from the compass on the arch here," Raziel said taking the compass from my hands.
"I'm not sure it's wise to touch the border," I said weakly.
"Let him kill himself. Less hassle for me!" Isadora said from her perch on a tree. How she got up there in such a short time, I don't know. I turned my attention to Raziel. He reached out to the border with the compass. And before I could blink he was smoking slightly, on the ground twenty feet away. Isadora was laughing so hard she practically fell off the tree, but she caught herself before she could fall.
"Not funny," Raziel said as he slowly sat up. He glared at Isadora who was trying to catch her breath.
"You still have your eyebrows," Skylar offered with a shrug as she gave her friend a disapproving look. Which only caused the princess to tackle her.
"We don't have time for this!" Viviana scolded as she helped Raziel up. The elves continued to wrestle on the ground.
"I agree we are dragging this on too long already," Raziel said returning to our group.
"Like I care! Because I oh-so want to return to my perfect princess life with my perfect father to tell me I can't even breathe right!" Isadora shouted her smiling face turned into a scowl as her good mood morphed into anger. She swung down from the tree and stalked over to the horses.
All eyes went to Skylar for an explanation. She merely shrugged and turned to go over to the still boiling princess. We could hear hushed voices but turned our attention to the border.
"Okay so after that," Raziel said gesturing towards the elves,"what's the plan B?" Viviana and Raziel turned towards me.
"M-maybe we can try p-putting the c-compass into the opening in the side," I said gesturing towards a small opening on the side of the arch. Viviana signaled for me to try it. I shook my head and gave the compass to her. With a sigh she marched over to the arch and put the compass into the hole. For a second nothing happened. Viviana turned too are group in triumph. Promptly after she was facing us she was shot back ten feet. She stood. Only to get knocked back down by the rejected compass. Rubbing her head she joined Raziel and I just as the elves returned. Isadora looked calm but I could tell her rage was still boiling beneath the surface. She smirked at the sight of the vanishing red mark in the center of Viviana's forehead. Viviana decided to turn her rage from the border onto the princess. I stepped back sensing the dispute about to occur.
"Looks like the temperamental princess is back," Viviana said wanting to start a fight.
"Sorry I'm not perfect enough for you, Disgrace," Isadora spat back. The nickname stung Viviana and sparked her anger.
"I don't see you bringing anything to value here! At least I'm welcomed at my home. Unlike someone," Viviana said knowing full well she was putting salt in old wounds.
"I already told you my idea for this stinking border! Sorry you wouldn't try it. Sorry my life isn't good enough for you. Sorry you don't want me on this trip. Sorry you feel like I have to much control on this trip. Sorry you can't handle things when they don't go your way. Sorry you are normal. Sorry you are like my father", Isadora said each sentence sounded more lethal than the last. She didn't shout but they had a heavy blow on Viviana. No one would want to be like the eastern elven king. Even in the west he was known to be a horrible person. Viviana's cheaks flushed red as she hurled the compass right at the border. It bounced back, Isadora caught it and put it on the rock. The gate opened, Isadora mounted up and rode through.
When I crossed through it was like a switch had been flipped. I was met by freezing cold. The elves didn't mind it as the Raziel, Viviana, and I pulled our cloaks closer to our bodies.

We traveled for ten miles in silence when the air grew slightly warmer.
"Is that normal?" I asked.
"Maybe it's someone's anger," Isadora mumbled from the rear.
"I have no clue," Raziel said from the front of the group. The air had now grown to summer temperatures. We rounded a bend in the road and my eyes widened.
"Dragon!" Isadora exclaimed like a kid in a sweetshop. Before us in the middle of the road sat a huge dragon. It had six legs, two heads, wings, and a deadly looking tail.
"Looks like we are in for a treat," Raziel said pulling out his wand. As if on a cue the group all pulled out weapons and tensed for the battle about to occur.
"I hope it breathes fire!" Isadora whispered to Skylar.
"This might just top the cyclops," I said. We all dismounted.
"This is going to be one hell of a fight," Viviana said.
