It is true what they say, long distance relationships are hard. Like really hard. Different timezones mean that the amount of time you get to speak is limited. Working also reduces the time you get to speak to your other half and sometimes just being that distance away can drain you.

That's exactly what it's like. I'm a whole ocean away from Simon and it kills me everyday. I mean we get to Skype and FaceTime and watch each other's videos, but it's not the same as having him in my arms. I mean whilst I'm a YouTuber based in the US he's living with the Sidemen in London. That's 3,471 miles away. Don't get me wrong, living in America is amazing, living the life that some people would die for...but it's not for me. I'd much rather be with Simon, in London where I belong.

So that's why I bought a plane ticket.

"Babe, I miss you. When are you going to be coming home?" Simon asked on the other side of the screen. I sometimes wish I could reach through the glass and touch him.
"I don't know baby. I wish I could be with you." I sighed. I looked at the plane ticket to London on my bedside cabinet and tried to hide the smile on my face. I wanted to keep everything a surprise.
"If I wasn't so busy with the Southampton football match and stuff for the book and the Upload Event, I'd be able to fly over there and see you." Simon groaned, leaning his elbow on his desk.
"I'm busy too Si. I promise we'll see each other soon. I've gotta go, I've got a really important meeting." I lied as Simon nodded. It was nearing 7am here and my flight was at noon. That meant I'd arrive in England in the early hours. Perfect.
"Alright, I better record with the guys. I love you, (Y/N)." He smiled brightly.
  "I love you too."

I rolled my suitcase along the marble floor, squeezing through groups of people who were trying to catch their plane. I don't know how long I was going to stay in England, but I was planning to make it as long as possible, if not stay there permanently. It's not as if I had many friends in America. Most of the friends I had were YouTubers so I could easily see them at conventions and events. As for my family...I don't have any. Simon is all I have. Plus my apartment is run down and falling apart. I had everything I needed in this one suitcase. It's about time I moved away from the States and back to London.

I handed the woman at the desk my ticket and passport as she stamped them and took down my details. I smiled at her before walking towards the terminals that lead to the plane. Goodbye America. It's been a good run.

The clouds were so mesmerisingly beautiful. Close to America, they were beautiful shades of yellow, pink and orange and as we flew nearer to the UK they turned into elegant shades of grey and blue. I'd taken the cliche cloud photos and saved them onto my phone. I filmed the sky on snapchat and deliberately kept my wifi off so Simon or the boys couldn't see what I was doing. That's when I saw a cascade of bright lights coming from below.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you look on both sides of the plane, you will see that we are now officially flying over the United Kingdom!" The air hostess announced on a tannoy. I relaxed back into my seat. I was here.

The taxi pulled up outside of a large familiar house. I gazed out of the window as most of the lights inside were still switched on. Typical, it was almost 3am and they were all still awake. I paid the taxi driver and pulled my suitcase out of the boot. I couldn't help but stop and stare at the house. It hadn't changed much from the last time I saw it. Still all 4 cars parked in the drive, a large Minecraft figurine in Vik's window. But there's one thing I forgot about...the fucking front gate. There was no way I could get in there without someone knowing about it. Right, Josh get ready for a surprise visit.

Me: Hey Josh, you're awake right? 😊
Zerk: Yeah of course. What's up (Y/N)?☺️
Me: Where are the others?
Zerk: In their rooms editing, why? 🤔
Me: Don't tell anyone!! But come to the front door!
Zerk: I'm so confused, I'll be right there...

I stood behind the front gate, holding my suitcase handle as the front door slowly opened and Josh's head poked out, looking around, until he saw me.

"Holy shit!" He exclaimed. He jogged over quickly unlocking the gate and letting me inside.
"Be quiet, it's a surprise!" I giggled as Josh took hold of my suitcase and escorted me inside, quietly shutting the door and pulling me into a hug.
"Jesus, stranger, it's been a while. How have you been?" He chuckles to himself as I hang up my jacket.
"I've been good, how about you? I've missed you and Freya!"
"I'm great! Especially after seeing you. We've both missed you too!"
"Josh, what's with all the noi-?" Vik asks before he stops and stares at the top of the staircase. He runs down the stairs and hugs me tightly. "(Y/N), what the hell are doing here?!" He whispers excitedly.
"Oh hello to you too, Vik!" I chuckled as he let me go. "And I'm here to stay, if you guys will have me?" I beamed hopefully.
"Of course! We missed you!" Josh smiled. "Right, you better go say hi to Jide and Simon. Oh my god, they're gonna be so happy."

I crept up the stairs, Josh and Vik grabbing their cameras to film the other two boys's reactions. I walked down the hallway and up to JJ's door, knocking on. No answer. I knocked again, but still no answer. I opened the door ajar and saw JJ filming a video with his headphones on. Josh and Vik went inside before me, pointing the camera at Jide and me. I sneakily crept up behind him and placed my hand on his shoulder causing him to jolt back and exclaim. His eyes widened when he saw me and he threw his headphones onto the floor before engulfing me in a bear hug.

"Fucking hell, you scared the shit out of me! (Y/N), no one told me you were here!" JJ grinned ruffling my hair.
  "That's because I thought it'd surprise everyone." I whispered.
"She surprised all of us!" Vik giggled.
"Right, Simon's turn." Josh laughed holding the camera in his hands.

I held onto the bannister as I climbed the second set of stairs up to Simon's room, the room I'd be staying in. I was nervous about seeing him, the last time I saw him was last Summer, before I had to fly back to America. We talked everyday but it wasn't the same as the real thing. Seeing him face-to-face was perfect. I reached the top of the staircase and took a deep breath before opening the door.

"Oh, JJ fuck off! What have I told you about knocking?!" Simon's laughter filled the room as he took off his headset and looked at the door. JJ, Josh and Vik begun laughing whilst recording Simon's reaction. His bright blue eyes were wide and his mouth hung open in surprise.
"Sorry for just barging in." I giggled as Simon leapt over to me. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close to him, cuddling me like he'd never done it before. His familiar scent came back, his warmth and the sense of safety. He peppered kisses all over my face and cheeks before planting a few strong kisses on my lips.
"H-how? W-what?!" He stammered before laughing.
"I thought I'd surprise you!" I smiled as he kissed me a few times again.
"Oh my god! Were you guys in on this?!" Simon exclaimed to the boys as they shook their heads. "Fucking hell, I missed you so much (Y/N)!"
"I missed you too babe! I'm here now!" I giggled into his chest.
"And you're never leaving me again! I love you!" Simon smiled into my hair.
  "I love you too."

And I never did leave him again.
