JJ: All I Want

'All I want is nothing more, than to hear you knocking at my door.'

JJ wasn't very specific in where he told you to meet him. 'Meet me by the pond' wasn't very helpful considering the pond was flipping huge! You sighed and continued walking down the long path through the centre of Hyde Park. The mass of orange and red leaves that were falling from the branches of trees, crunched underneath each step you took. Couples were walking together, laughing and joking about what they had done that day, elderly people walked their cute little dogs and you were looking for your dickhead of a best friend. Where the fuck was he? You were looking past the trees and over at the pond. It was surrounded by tonnes of people but you couldn't see Jide.

You: JJ, where are you? This pond is huge!
Jiddlypuff: Near the trees!
You: We're in a park...there's millions of fucking trees 😂
Jiddlypuff: The one near the play area 😏
You: Why did you bring me here anyway?
Jiddlypuff: Because..
You: Because what?
Jiddlypuf: Because I'm a beast best friend!

You rolled your eyes and placed your phone in the pocket of your coat. You were at a meeting when JJ had text you asking you to meet him. You were confused since you both rarely came to the park and JJ was acting suspicious when you had rung him on your way here. He was definitely up to something.

You continued walking on the path that took you around the pond. You had no idea where JJ was and you worried about what he was hiding from you. You smiled as a family walked by, a father carrying his sleeping son on his shoulder.

  "(Y/N)!" A voice whispered as you stopped in your tracks. You recognised the voice as JJ's but you couldn't tell where he was.
  "Jide?"
  "I'm here." He said as you turned to see him leaning on a small yellow gate. He had a cheeky grin on his face.
  "What are you doing?" You smiled as he gestured you over.
  "Just wanted to spend some time with my bestie. No problem with that is there?" He grinned as he leaned in to hug you. You rolled your eyes and laughed to yourself.
  "No, but why are we at the park?" You asked him as he opened the gate.
  "Because why not? It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, I've finished filming for the day, you've finished your meetings and photoshoots and because there's a fucking swing set!" He chuckled excitedly.
  "You seem excited about those swings Jide." You chuckled walking through the gate.
"I am! Also the fact I packed a picnic!" He squealed dragging you over to the empty play area.
"Picnic?" You repeated. You knew JJ too well, so you knew he wouldn't of cooked anything himself.
"Well...sweets." He admitted. You laughed to yourself thinking how cute he was. "And chocolate, berries and pretty much anything that'll give you diabetes." He chuckled as he placed his backpack on a patch of grass and sat on a swing. You sat beside him, watching some ducks fly overhead and into the pond.
"Diabetes sounds fun." You smirked letting you legs lightly kick off the floor causing you to swing slowly back and forth.
"Oh yeah, loads. Josh and Simon helped me. I thought since we've both been busy it'd be nice for us to go hang out outside. Hyde Park seemed pretty good." JJ smiled as he looked at you with his soft brown eyes.
"It's beautiful, thank you Jide."
"No problem, (Y/N)." He beamed happily.

"JJ stop!!" You exclaimed through giggling as JJ continued to push you on the swings. You were swinging higher than you expected, almost seeing the entirety of the pond every time you swung. JJ was just cackling behind you.
"Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!" He laughed loudly pushing you higher and higher.
"Jide!!!" You squealed feeling the wind rush through your hair with every swing. JJ started to slow you down before you came to a stop, your heart beating fast and your body out of breath.
"You mad bro?" JJ laughed as you stood up off the swing.
"Fuck you." You chuckled. Jide walked over to his backpack, unzipping it and pulling out a thick red blanket and placing it on the grass. He gestured you to sit on it with him.

On the blanket he placed frozen packs of colourful berries, packets of biscuits, doughnuts, cakes, sherbet, crisps, lemonade and sandwiches. You were proud of how much of an effort he had made, even though it wouldn't look much to anyone else, it meant a lot to you.

"(Y/N)?" JJ asked you as you took a bite of a sandwich. The sun was gradually setting but it was still really light. People were still in the park, a few boys playing football together on the field, families also having picnics and having fun, dog walkers and couples and the occasional jogger. It was peaceful.
"Yeah?" You smiled as he placed a blueberry in his mouth.
"Can I ask you something?" He questioned, his gaze looking down. He looked nervous and worried.

The thing is, JJ had developed feelings for you but he was too scared to tell you. It was the typical cliche story of how since you were best friends he had fallen for you, but JJ had never experienced anything like this. His heart would genuinely skip a beat whenever you hugged him. He'd savour the moment you'd kiss his cheek. He was in love with you and was too scared you'd reject him. That's why he just wanted to get it out of the way and just tell you, then hopefully move on.

"Of course." You beamed sipping your lemonade. JJ itched his arm and sighed deeply.
"Uhm. This is mad, er, you know I'm not good with girls or anything right?" He mumbled as you nodded.
"Have you got a girlfriend Jide?" You smirked as he chuckled nervously.
"I wish. No, er, listen I'm not the romantic type, I sometimes say the wrong thing and I'm shit with expressing my feelings so bear with me, okay?"
"Jide, what's up?" You asked perching your chin on your hand as your elbow leant on your knee.
"I like you, okay?!" He blurted out. Your eyes widened in shock as he sighed into his hands. You never thought he would feel the same way about you as you did him.
"What?" You whispered still shocked.

"All I want, all I've ever wanted was to just be able to call you mine. To just kiss you whenever you made me proud or laugh. Hug you in bed and have you fall asleep nuzzled in my chest. All I want is for you to know how much I love you and how beautiful you are to me, inside and out. I'd protect you from anyone and anything. All I want is just a chance to be able to take you out on stupid dates that I mess up by tripping over or getting us thrown out of places because I'm rapping too loud. I want us to film videos together and show our fans that we're the real deal. I just want you. It's all I've ever wanted." Jide spoke truthfully, your heart beating for every word. You had a tear in your eye, knowing how much you meant to him.

"JJ-"

"No, (Y/N), I'm sorry. I know you don't feel the same, its obvious I was just going to make a fool of myself, but I needed to tell you. I'm a fuck up, I fuck everything up and now I've messed our friendship up, which I treasure more than anything on this earth. (Y/N), I'm so sorry for being a dickhead all the time and -"

You cut him off by pressing your lips on his. That shut him up. He was shocked by the sudden touch of your lips, but soon enough you were moving together perfectly, the kiss feeling perfect. JJ brushed stray hairs our of your face, tucking them behind your ear. You rested your hand on his cheek. The kiss was broken when JJ smiled into it.

"(Y/N)..." He whispered out of breath.
"It's all I've ever wanted too you daft sod." You chuckled as you placed a kiss on his lips again.
