The final whistle blew, the stadium erupting into screams and cheers. Both sides were content with the outcome, the whole event for charity after all and it seemed the crowd was still highly buzzed. You sat next to Elliot Crawford a few rows from the front, applauding and cheering for all of the players, but more importantly your boyfriend Chris.

You knew Chris was in his element right now, the crowd, the lights, the teams and the football. Playing football was a huge part of his life and seeing him grinning on the pitch and joking with his teammates was enough to make you beam and even though he didn't win, you could tell he was still over the moon.

Over the past few months, all Chris had been talking about was the Southampton match today. He was so excited to just get back on a proper football pitch and have fun with his friends, igniting his passion; something you always admired in Chris.

Chris jogged over to the tunnel entrance, grinning up at you in the stands. He ushered you to follow him, you quickly grabbing your stuff and jogging down the stairs and into the tunnel. All the other players came bursting into the changing rooms as Chris took hold of your hand, pulling you into an empty corridor.

"You're all sweaty." You pointed out as Chris smiled, out of breath.
"A 90 minute footie match usually does that to me, you know?" He chuckled as your back pressed against the wall behind you. You couldn't deny he looked incredibly sexy right now, sweaty, flustered and out of breath. "Did I do well?"
"Ehhhhh...you lost Dixon." You teased as he playfully rolled his eyes.
"Pfffft nobody noticed." He smirked wiping some sweat from his forehead.
"Nah I'm sure the 14,000 thousand people out there didn't notice at all." You joked watching him scoff.
"(Y/N)..."
"Oh and the 100,000 people on the livestream...must've had a technical glitch." You innocently shrugged.
"Okay, shut it you." He chuckled, leaning in and kissing you. His kiss was always soft and perfect. Chris would make sure to kiss you whenever he had the chance.

"Oi, lovebirds!"

You both turn to see JJ, Harry and Simon stood at the end of the corridor.

"Sorry to disturb the cringe fest, but we need to return to the pitch!" JJ bellowed with a cackle.
"The fact that you said "cringe fest" is cringe." Simon laughed.
"Shut the fuck up!" JJ exclaimed slapping him on the head.
"Ow!"
"Come on Chris, it's time for that thing..." Harry hinted to Chris, Jide raising his eyebrow.
"Oh, right of course!" Chris nodded, quickly pecking you on the cheek before jogging down the corridor to join the boys.
"What thing?" JJ questioned, Simon slapping him on the head.
"You fucking idiot, the 'thing'!"
"Ohhhhhhhhhh yeah!!!!"
"For fuck sake you retard. Right Christoph, to the pitch we go!" Harry exclaimed happily, leading Chris through the tunnel with JJ. "Also well done on that impressive game!"
"Shut up Harry." Chris laughed.

You were left confused and slightly curious in the corridor, a million thoughts rushing through your head. What 'thing'? What were they planning?

"(Y/N)?" Simon said from the end of the corridor. You looked over to him as he had a cheeky smile in his eye.
"Yeah?"
"Come on, sis." He grinned holding his arm out to you. You walked over to him, linking him as you stood beside him. His grip tightened as he escorted you through the tunnel and back onto the pitch. Simon was a protective big brother, he always had been and when you started dating one of his closest friends, Chris, over 3 years ago he was a bit iffy about it. He knew you were both good people, but you were his little and only sister, so he wanted you to be with someone who actually loved you and vowed to treat you properly. Chris did so he was happy.

As you both appeared from the tunnel, you saw all of the players lined up in front of the crowd, absolute silence throughout the entire stadium. All of the fans were standing, holding up blank white boards. You were very confused, looking up to Simon for an answer.

"You'll see." He smirked. The sky overhead was a mixture of pinks and purples, the sun setting on another hot sunny June day. The perfect day for the match.

"Ladies and gentlemen, here she is, please welcome to the pitch, (Y/N) Minter!!" The commentators spoke from the commentary box. Roars of cheers and screams filled the stadium as the crowd began waving the white boards around in the air. What the hell is going on?
"Si?"
He pointed towards the first player in the line; Freezy, who stood wearing a red football shirt and holding a rose. He handed the rose to you, smiling as he stood back in line.
"It's about time." He muttered to you. More confusion.
Simon escorted you down the line and one by one, friends handed you a bright red rose.
"You ain't ready for this shit." Ethan chuckled handing you his rose.
"It's so romantic, I'm gonna cry." JJ joked handing you another rose and hugging you dramatically.
"What is happening?" You smiled, confusion riddled on your face. Simon, JJ and Ethan could only laugh mischievously.
"Chris, care to explain?" Josh smirked, another rose, as you stopped in front of Chris.

You stood, your arm still linked with your brother's, a hand carrying a bouquet of red roses and a mind full of curiosity. Chris stepped forward, a huge grin spread across his face and a lot less sweaty.

"(Y/N), I'm gonna keep this short but I just wanted you to know how much I love you and how lucky I am to have you."

JJ pretended to cry loudly into Ethan's shoulder, the crowd laughing at his immaturity.

"It's not real to me yet that you're actually my girlfriend, I still have to pinch myself to really realise that I have you. I don't want this to be cringe, but honestly you are so so beautiful and I really don't know what I would do if I had never met you. Thank you Simon." Chris chuckled as Simon dramatically brushed his hair back.
"I mean, don't mention it!" Si joked.
"Anyway, (Y/N) I love you and I think the crowd has something to say..."

Simon turned you around as you looked up at the crowd, a tingly feeling in your stomach. Fans turned around the blank boards, revealing a message across them.

(Y/N), will you marry ChrisMD?

You were stunned completely. A proposal? Definitely unexpected. Thoughts of a future with Chris ran through your mind. Chris as your husband. You as his wife. Perfect.

Turning around to face Chris again, you laughed through the happy tears in your eyes, seeing him knelt down on one knee, holding a black box with a silver ring inside. You blinked the tears back, looking down at Chris' smiley face.

"I added the 'MD' because there was a lot more fans than I was expecting." He laughed nervously, still holding the ring.
"Chris."
"So what'd ya say? Fancy being (Y/N)MD?"
"I guess so." You teased, Chris jumping up and pulling you in for a hug.

"YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" JJ screamed, the stadium erupting once again in celebration. Chris slid the ring onto your finger, kissing you several times. You were engaged! "WAY TOO YOUNG FOR THE RING TING!!!" JJ sung as loud as he could, the crowd and other footballers joining in.
"JJ shut the fuck up, your songs are shit!" Simon joked slapping him in the head.
"Yo bitch, you wanna go?!" Jide challenged playfully.
"Oi you, don't hurt my best man!" Chris defended, Simon and yourself looking at him surprised.
"Wait really?" Simon questioned happily.
"Of course, you're my fiancé's brother." Chris smiled down at you.
"Thank you." You mouthed to him, a kiss returning to you.
"YES BOYS, BEST MAN COMING THROUGH!!"
