(Part 2 to Those Boys requested by TheHopelessFangirls and official_dab_girl so sorry it took forever, I procrastinate a lot😂)
Butterflies had erupted in my stomach, nerves definitely settling in. I had never been on a date before, let alone a double date and I was nervous about messing up in front of Simon or even Tobi. I really liked Simon and I wanted him to really like me back, which is why the thought of making a fool of myself was lingering in my head.
All of these nerves had caused me to fall behind on time and it was nearing 6:30, the time that both of the boys were meeting myself and Ellie here. I glanced at myself in the mirror, flattening down my navy blue laced dress that ended just above my knee, silently praying that my decision to wear a casual dress would pay off. My hair was in loose waves and I had a light layer of makeup on, never one for caking my self in cosmetics. Hopefully this was enough. After spraying an appropriate amount of perfume, I grabbed my jacket and headed downstairs to see if Ellie was ready.
"Ellie?" I called walking into the living room, the tall green Christmas tree decorated beside the sofa, lights twinkling brightly. Not long left to go!
"Hi (Y/N)." Simon grinned as he sat on the soft grey armchair. When did he get here?
"Simon...hey," I smiled tucking some hair behind my ear. "Sorry, I didn't know you had arrived. You been waiting long?" I questioned subtly checking myself in the large mirror hung on the wall. Simon stood to his feet, brushing down his white shirt, definitely the most formal thing I've seen Simon wear.
"No, we arrived about 5 minute ago. Tobi and Ellie are outside." Simon smirked as Ellie's laughter was able to be heard.
"They seem to be getting on well." I smiled.
"Thankfully. Tobi's not stopped talking about her since." Simon chuckled grabbing his jacket from the arm of the sofa. "You look beyond gorgeous by the way."My cheeks flushed as I looked down at my outfit. Thankfully it seemed that my effort to get ready tonight had paid off; Simon loved it.
"So do you," I said without thinking. I scrunched up my face as my inner awkwardness came out, Simon looking at me with a grin. "I didn't mean that, I meant-"
"Excuse me, I am extremely gorgeous thank you very much!" Simon joked causing me to smile. Why the hell do I have to be so embarrassing?!
"Shall we get going then?" I asked shyly as he nodded.
"Let's go."Simon and Tobi had decided to take us to a casual pub-like restaurant on the outskirts of the city centre and by the looks of things the place was cosy and perfect. As we walked into the entrance, Ellie and I stood behind the taller boys who requested a booth or table to sit at. As I placed my hand on the back of the chair, ready to pull it out, Simon's hand stopped me.
"Please, let me." He smiled pulling out the chair for me.
"You don't have to be a cliche gentleman you know?" I smiled, thankful for his gesture.
"We decided to be the perfect gentlemen tonight for you gorgeous ladies." Tobi cheekily grinned pulling out Ellie's chair.
"Thank you." We both replied, taking our seats. I never thought people actually did this on dates, especially these two, but I found it sweet.
"I must admit both of you look amazing. Ellie you look so beautiful." Tobi shyly smiled as I looked towards Simon with a smirk. They were getting along fine.
"Thanks Tobi. Shall we get some drinks?" Ellie suggested as herself and Tobi walked up to the bar.It wasn't awkward staying at the table with Simon. I just didn't want to say anything to fuck up, which I knew was inevitable. Simon leaned back in his chair, smiling slightly as I fiddled with my fingers nervously. I was never like this around Simon, whenever we hung out it was completely fine, so why did I feel so nervous?
"So (Y/N), how's YouTube going?" Simon asked casually.
"It's going great actually. Got a lot of videos coming up and people seem to be liking my content so I'm happy. What about you? How's the YouTube life for Mr MiniMinter?" I smirked as he let off a slight chuckle.
"It's going really well thanks," he grins ruffling a hand through his neater than usual hair. You could tell he had tried to make an effort for tonight, even though I loved it natural. "We should collab." He said out of the blue.
"Huh? You wanna collab?" I asked, unable to hide the smile that rushed to my face.
"Well, I mean it's what the viewers want. Plus it's about time you came to the Sidemen house."
"Sure. Let's collab." I nodded. Simon bit his lip clearly glad I agreed.
"Here, get these down you." Tobi laughed placing a couple of bottles of beer on the table in front of us and sitting down with Ellie again. "Oh my days, (Y/N), I saw your video yesterday! I was cry laughing!" Tobi sniggered as Simon leant his elbow on the table.
"I was whilst editing it!" I chuckled as Ellie shook her head.
"I can't believe you stole all of my clothes." She sighed trying to hide a smile.
"I love pranking you though!" I defended.
"Oh Simon, did I ever tell you about the washing machine incident?" Ellie questioned as my eyes widened.
"I don't believe you have." Simon laughed, keen on learning about the story.
"Ellie, don't you dare!"The bitter coolness of the air was welcomed after the incredible warmth inside the pub. I didn't really mind the December air considering it wasn't as cold as winter had previously been. Even though I wasn't cold in the slightest, my hands were almost completely shoved into my jacket sleeves. I was still showing signs of nervousness but after tonight I wasn't nervous anymore. Simon and I had got on like a house on fire as did Tobi and Ellie. Safe to say I liked Simon and the thought of him potentially liking me back excited me. Ellie and Tobi walked ahead, arms linked with one another, laughing. It made me happy seeing them together.
I was walking side by side with Simon, our hands occasionally brushing together.each time I felt his warm skin against mine I couldn't help but get butterflies deep in the pit of my stomach.
"I've enjoyed tonight, you know." Simon smiled as the streetlamp above him illuminated his features, his blue eyes shining as cars passed us on the road.
"Me too. Who knew a date with you would've been good?" I teased as he raised his eyebrow playfully.
"I did. I'm an expert at dates I'll have you know." He joked, a cheeky twinkle in his smile.
"Is that why you're still single?"
"Ouch. Firing shots on a date are we (Y/N)?" He laughed, tilting his head back.
"Do you expect anything else?" I breathed, my breath evaporating into a cold mist.
"Of course not."We continued walking down the quiet street, cars driving by and the laughter from both Tobi and Ellie and patrons of nearby bars filling our ears. I could also hear Simon's quiet breathing, a smile somehow obvious in the way he acted. I pushed my hands out from inside my sleeves and felt the full force of the cool air against my fingertips. Then I felt sudden warmth again and a soft thumb rub against the back of my hand.
"You don't mind, do you?" He asks, looking down at me with a blushing grin.
"No, actually. You're nice and warm."
"And gorgeous." He adds.
"Yeah I don't know about that." I joked seeing him playfully gasp.
"Excuse me!"
"Simon look!"We both looked ahead, our hands still intertwined as Tobi planted a kiss on Ellie's lips.
"Well that's just PDA." Simon laughed quietly as we continued walking.
"You boys are always such romance killers." I rolled my eyes with a grin.
"Oh really? Well let me show you romance (Y/N)."And with a tilt of my chin, a hand gently pressed against my cheek and a tuck away of stray hair, Simon placed a delicate kiss on my lips. Those boys were gentlemen that's for sure.
