Simon: Brother's Instinct

(Requested by my friend Abbie 😋 I got you bro)

I leant against the doorframe, my stomach twisting in knots. I didn't know how to feel or what to do with myself. One at a time, the boys walked into the living room and sat puzzled on the sofa. They wanted to know why Simon and I had called them down from filming or editing. Tobi, Harry and Ethan were here as well from the Halo Tower, but my main priority was Josh, my older brother.

I was concerned to how he would react to this whole situation. As any older brother is, Josh was over protective of me. Any boyfriend I've ever had growing up was always frowned upon by Josh, but now I'm in a serious relationship with Simon, how would he react?

"(Y/N), it's going to be fine, I promise you." Simon whispered as he stood behind me. We hadn't told any of the boys yet, which was why I was crapping myself.
"I hope so." I whispered as Josh shuffled past us both into the living room with Vik.
"Simon, what's all this about?" JJ asked as he sat with his body lay across the sofa.
"Just wait Jide." Simon breathed as Harry sat on JJ's legs.
"Fuck off you twat!" JJ screeched as Harry made him unable to move.
"Don't lay across the sofa then you dick." Harry laughed as Jide sat up allowing Bog to sit down.
"Is it anything important?" Josh wondered as he sat with Vik and Ethan.
"They've probably broken something again!" Vik chuckled itching his cheek. As I lived with Josh, Vik, Jide and Simon in the Sidemen house, it was a common occurrence that something was broken, more than likely mine and JJ's fault.

Simon and I had been dating for over 6 months and I loved him. Obviously we were friends before the relationship happened and we had to try and keep it on the down low. Staying in the spare bedroom across from Simon allowed us to sneak into each other's rooms at night and cuddle and whatever and the boys had never found out. Now we figured since the relationship was getting serious we needed to tell the boys before they found out themselves.

"No we haven't broken anything." Simon chuckled as he walked fully into the living room and stood in front of he TV. I followed behind him, standing next to his lanky figure.
"What's so important that you had to call us all in here?" Ethan questioned scrolling through his phone.
"Right, this is pretty big. Please don't get mad, especially you Josh." I said as Josh raised his eyebrow.
"What did you do?" He asked seriously. I take a deep breath and look at Simon as he winks at me.
"(Y/N) and I are together. As in, together in a relationship." Simon announces as the whole room falls silent.
"FUCKING FINALLY!" JJ exclaims standing up and engulfing you and Simon in a big hug. You breathed a sigh of relief, JJ was happy. I tried to look over JJ's shoulder to see Josh's reaction to the news, but my vision was interrupted when Ethan, Tobi and Vik joined the hug.
"My ship man, my ship!" Tobi cheered into my shoulder. I could hear Simon laugh.
"Guys this is sick!" Vik chuckled.
"Yes guys! Finally!" Ethan laughed. Everyone let go and returned to their seats on the sofas.
"Awh guys I'm so happy for you!" Harry grinned running up and hugging you. You were glad you had most of the boys in a happy mood, but you could see the look on Josh's face and he didn't look happy.

A lump appeared in my throat, my heart beating ten times faster. If my brother wasn't happy how was I meant to be?

"Er, guys could you give us a moment?" Josh said to the others, no emotion on his face. They all looked worried for me, giving sympathetic looks as they exited into the hallway, presumably going into the kitchen.
"Josh-"
"You too, Simon. I want to speak to my sister alone." Josh spoke. Simon looked at me hesitantly. He rubbed my shoulder before following where the others went out of the door. I stood awkwardly in the middle of the living room not knowing what to say to Josh to make this whole situation better for him.

"Josh, please don't be angry." I sighed as Josh rubbed his temples.
"I'm not angry, I'm just...disappointed. How long has this been going on?" He questions crossing his legs over on the sofa. I walk over to the same sofa and sit beside him.
"6 months. We were going to tell you sooner but we thought you'd be angry since we hadn't been together that long." I admitted as Josh sighed.
"Like I said, I'm not angry. I just wish you would've told me." He says simply.
"I'm sorry. We're both sorry Josh. You're my big brother and I wanted you to be happy for me."
"I am. My little sister and my best friend together, of course I'm happy. You're happy aren't you?" He asks scratching his beard with a smile.
"Very happy."
"Simon treats you right?" He questions, his big brother instinct kicking in.
"Of course. He loves me and I love him." I tell Josh as he nods understandingly.
"Well I'm glad. Simon!" Josh says loudly as Simon's head pops around the door, obviously listening to the conversation.
"Yeah?" He asks sheepishly.
"Come here!" Josh laughs. Simon shuffles over to the sofa as Josh stands up. "We're best mates, this doesn't change anything you speng!" Josh cackles pulling Simon in for a hug.

I stand up and smile, relieved that my brother finally agrees with my boyfriend.

"Love you man." Simon giggles.
"I'm not going to do the whole 'hurt her and I'll hurt you' routine, but look after her, okay?" Josh says seriously as Simon's nods firmly.
"Of course. I love her Josh." He beams wrapping his arm around me.
"Good. Right, let's order food I'm starving!" Josh laughs standing in between Simon and I and patting our backs. "By the way Simon, I love you too!" He adds jokingly.
"I love you more man!" Simon pretend to cry as we enter the kitchen where the boys are all talking.
"Fuck sake, who's actually in a relationship?" I joke laughing.
"MiniZerk for life (Y/N)!!" Josh and Simon say at the same time before laughing.

I rolled my eyes as they both sat down at the kitchen island. Nothing made me happier than knowing that my two favourite boys still got along.
