AFRA

Afra's eyes shot up like a deer in headlights. She couldn't believe the words she just heard, " Dead? Then who is the woman that could be possibly carrying my child?"

"Wait. What's going here? Is it something I should know?" Don asked with a voice of concern.

"It's this crazy woman that we hired to be our surrogate mom. She's been trying to turn Jaeson against me ever since she laid eyes on him. Rochelle or whoever the hell this woman is could be possibly having my baby. She just had the surrogacy procedure two weeks ago." Afra started to panic. She couldn't believe that all of this time, she had known a complete stranger. If the woman wasn't Rochelle, then who was she? She looked like her, talked like her, and dressed like her, so how couldn't it possibly be her?

"Woah, woah, woah! Calm down, Afra." Don said trying to get Afra to slow down her speech. She was beginning to talk too fast for him to understand, "well who could this woman be? I'm already on Rochelle's case and so far I only have a Lauren Summers as the leading suspect. Do you know if it's her?"

"Don, I don't know!" Afra yelled in outrage, " I don't have a clue who this woman could be. She could be a serial killer or a looney tune from a mental institution for all I know."

"Well, I already have some info on Lauren Summers. She's originally from Houston, Texas and grew up from foster home to foster home. It's one woman who took her for a few years by the name of Susan Grant and I think I should start there. We have a few records of having restraining orders against her from stalking a few boys around town, then a recent arrest at Waleson U, but after that, it's like she doesn't exist. I want to dig deeper into this. I feel like I'm close to breaking this case." Don explained. After finding that Lauren's blood was found at the scene of Rochelle's murder, he needed as much information on her as possible to convict for the crime, but nothing seemed to add up just yet.

Afra's eyes started to widen, "Could Lauren be the woman who could be possibly carrying my baby?!" she asked in curiosity.

"I'm not sure, but For now, just hang tight and make sure Jaeson keeps you safe. Play it cool with the girl. Don't start questioning her too much or she'll probably run off without you knowing who she really is." Don seriously stated.

Afra wished that Jaeson could keep her safe at this moment, but she had forgotten that they had a fight not too long ago and told him to get out. She regretted her decision now that she knew that the woman that was after her husband didn't claim who she said she was.

Of course, Afra and Jaeson would have to discuss what had occurred a few hours ago, but she didn't care at this moment. She needed her protector. She needed someone to hold her tight at night so she wouldn't sleep alone. She needed her husband. Afra had promised Jaeson on their wedding night that she would love him for better or for worse and at this point, things were turning for the worse.

"Ok." Afra sighed, "I'll try my best, but Jae doesn't know about any of this."

"Well what are you waiting for? Tell him. In the meantime, i'll work on Rochelle's case to get some more clues. I'll talk to you later, ok?"

"Thanks a lot, Don. I really appreciate all of this."

"You're my best friend's wife. You're like family. I'll do anything for you two. I'll give you details as soon as I can." Afra's phone beeped signaling the call had ended.

Afra started the car and began to head home. While driving the streets of Downtown Cloverdale, she thought how everything was going so well soon started to spiral down into a dark place. She was dumbfounded of how she thought having a surrogate would be a great thing for her marriage, but she thought wrong. Afra had wished that she had never went to the surrogacy clinic. She wished she and Jaeson had never met Rochelle, and she definitely hoped that Rochelle was not pregnant with their child.
