Don had been working with the technician to redevelop the footage from the hidden tape he found in Susan's house. Him and the technician had been working for almost two hours, and with the time they had spent, Don was growing upset.
I was so close to catching Lauren, but he was not close enough. He tried the best he could to find his suspect and he wanted her in the precinct today.
"Ok, the tape is ready," the technician announced.
Don almost jumped out of his seat after hearing the tape was finished. Him and the technician watched the tape thoroughly from beginning to end. And after what they saw, Don's eyes widened.
"Get off of me!" Lauren yelled as she began to fight Susan off of her.
"Come here girl! You know you can't get that money without me," Susan hissed as she had her hand midway down Lauren's panties.
"I said get off of me!"
Lauren screamed of rage as she retrieved her pocket knife from her jacket and slashed Susan's throat. The slash sent Susan to the floor as she grabbed for her neck. She was in pool of blood, gasping for air while reaching for Lauren's ankles.
Lauren bent down to get a better look, "You disgust me. Now tell me where the money is!"
Susan continued gasping for air, the words she wanted to make out was impossible with the slit in her throat, "Under. Und-under my bed," she stuttered.
Don and the technician watched Lauren on the tape walk up to the wooden stair case and a few seconds later come back into the living room.
"Thank you, mother."
The footage ended and the technician looked at Don as if he wanted to know what his next move would be. They both had witnessed a murder on tape and they couldn't get any more evidence as clear as that.
"We really just watched a murder....on tape," Don stated in disbelief.
"Should I play it back again?" The technician asked.
"No. Thanks, man. I appreciate it." Don spoke while preceding to get up to head to the Marshall's office.
He walked through the biggest room of the precinct where they called "the bee hive". It was called the bee hive because that is where all the operators received calls from the 9-1-1 operators about the crimes reported in the Cloverdale area.
When Don reached the Marshall's office, he didn't even knock, he just busted in not knowing if the Marshall was busy with his duties, "We got the evidence for Lauren! We got her on tape killing another woman."
The Marshall turned from his desk as he tried to wipe his mouth that was full of a bite size of his turkey club, "Well what are you waiting for? Book her!" he yelled at the fact of being disturbed on his lunch break.
Don nodded and headed back to his office on the other side of the bee hive. After grabbing his gun and cuffs, he yelled out to the officers below him, "ok buddies, it's time to move back out! We've got more evidence on Lauren doing another homicide. We have to search every crevice of the city."
"But where is she? We've been looking for her since the first murder and still can't find her," an officer blurted out.
Don acknowledged the officer's comment and he thought, he was right. He wanted all of them to move out to a city as big as the Big Apple with no clue where Lauren could be. But then he thought, if officers were already on every corner of the city and she was on the run, there was only one place she could be: The Coventry's house.
***************
Afra busted her way through the bedroom door with some much rage in her heart. She heard the conversation between Rochelle and Jaeson and she couldn't stand to let Rochelle take everything underneath her noise.
"What the hell is going on here!" Afra yelled with a stance ready to fight.
Jaeson and Lauren looked at Afra and then Lauren looked at Jaeson. When Lauren discovered what Afra had caught them in their bedroom, she decided to throw everything that's on the table once and for all.
"What do it look like? That's right! Me and Jae are together and there's nothing you can do about it! It's just the way love goes, Miss Picture Perfect!" Lauren said as she walked closer to Afra with a pointed finger in her face.
Jaeson stood there in silence without a thought in mind. He thought he really had messed up this time. His wife and mistress in the same room and could possibly break into a fight. He thought he would never see this day, but low and behold, it was all happening.
"Together?" Afra's face cringed in confusion as she turned to Jaeson, "Jae, this is how you're going to let her speak to me? This is how you're going to let her come into our home and speak to your wife?" Tears began to form in her eyes.
"Afra, I-I didn't tell her to come here!" Jaeson blurted out with his hands in surrender.
Lauren grew angry at this point. After all that Jaeson promised to her and put her through, he continued to lie and sugar coat everything, but she was tired of it and was going to reveal it all, "You didn't tell her didn't you?"
"No! I learned on my own from all of those purchases from Gucci and those nights at the hotel you were in. Yeah I knew!" Afra said as she waved her iPhone in the air for both of them to see, "And I got the picture too."
"Afra, look...I said I was sorry. I can't explain all of this to you right now, but I will explain," Jaeson said but then he paused, "What picture?"
Lauren rolled her eyes after listening to another lie, "No! I'm going to tell her. It's some things I have to discuss with the both of you," she said with a evil smirk on her face.
"I don't want to hear anything from any of you. I'm do-"
"No," Lauren demanded as she quickly snatched the pocket knife from her jacket that still had some of Susan's blood on it. Before Afra could walk to the door, Lauren held the knife to her neck to prevent her from leaving.
"Oh my God. Ro, what the hell are you doing!" Jaeson said trying to dart for the knife before he was waved back into the corner of the bedroom.
"Shut up! Nobody's going anywhere! You're all going to sit down and listen. Every word and every sentence." Lauren demanded again as she held the knife to Afra's neck.
Jaeson and Afra stayed silent, waiting for what Rochelle could be possibly be talking about.
"Now. Where do I start?"
