My warm shower has soothed and relaxed me. I decide to put on something casual, so I pull on a blue skater skirt and tuck in a white T-shirt. I look awfully plain so I put on an owl necklace and some earrings. I'm not worried anymore. Not that I needed to be worried anyway, I'm sure they're lovely people. Whats the worst thing that could happen?
I quickly apply a little makeup and meet my parents downstairs.
"Have you had anything to eat yet, El-" My dad is cut off by the loud rumbling of my stomach.
"I'll take that as a no." he continues, as he smiles and passes me a plate of small sandwiches.
I am soon finished eating and the time is 12:25. I wonder if Troye has texted me yet. I run upstairs and unplug my phone from its charger. I still have no text messages from him, only ones from my friends asking me about Australia. I understand that we're not together but, he said that he still loved me and that he hopes one day we can get back together. But yet he didn't even come with Autumn and Caspar to wave goodbye to me yesterday. We only broke up three days ago and i'm still a little upset. I don't know why it upsets me. Should it? Normally people don't get upset about their ex boyfriends not texting them. Maybe its just me.
I hear a faint knock on the door. I know my mothers going to call me down any minute now so I check my appearance one more time and make my way downstairs again.
When I get down there is a girl standing in the living room. Her hair is brown, but a much darker tone than mine. She is about the same height as me and is dressed in a plain black top tucked into her blue jeggings. We are wearing the same black converse.
As soon as I approach her, her hand shoots out to meet mine,"Hey there, i'm April."
"Hey, I'm Eleanor." She looks really kind maybe my mum was right.
"Well you two should get going" My mom says and we nod and leave the house.
As we walk out of my house April turns to me, "I'm going to apologise in advance for my friends, they can come across as quite rude but trust me their better once you get to know them." She smiles. Oh no.
"It's fine I've had friends like that, I understand." No I don't.
We approach her door. This house looks much bigger than it did yesterday. She opens the glass doors, and we walk into the kitchen. Her parents are sitting at the dinning table.
"Hello there, i'm Aprils mother, just call me July." She chirps, she sounds nice.
"I'm Paul." her dad says into his newspaper. Ok then.
She jerks her head towards the door indicating that she wants me to follow her.
As we get to the bottom of the staircase, there is a loud bang followed by laughter. It sounds like a bunch of boys. Boys? Maybe she has brothers. She looks at me and rolls her eyes then sprints up the stairs taking two steps at a time. I try to keep up. Before we enter the first door on the left, she gives me a smile and mouths the words good luck. The door creeks open, revealing three boys. Two look like twins and the other looks related to them as well, but older. None of them look like her. Great. When my mom said 'friends' I thought she meant a group of girls not boys. I've never really had any friends that are boys except for Troyes friends and lets be honest, they're not your everyday typical type of boys.
They all stop what they are doing and look me up and down in unison. I look around the room. It's a lot different too mine, It's blue and purple with white furniture. I like it. Not as much as my room, but I like it. Speaking of furniture, right in the middle of the room there is a draw full of underwear that is scattered around the place. It looks like the whole chest of draws had fallen when they had been trying to yank the draw out. That would explain the large bang.
"Guys, I told you not to go through any of my stuff while I was gone!" April huffs scolding them like they're children. Her cheeks are red as she runs over to pick up her underwear.
"Yeah, yeah. Who's your friend?" The tall one says with their eyes still on me.
April ignores them until she has managed to put her underwear away. She struggles to put the draw back in place so I walk over to help her. I can still feel their eyes on me as I walk an bend down to help her pick up the draw.
"Thanks" she says to me and we both stand to look at the boys. They are still starring at me.
"Stop gawping Beau. This is Eleanor, my next door neighbour." He doesn't stop, he just nods. She rolls her eyes and turns to me.
"Eleanor, this is Beau, Luke and Luke number two." We all giggle except for the other twin.
"Fuck off April." he huffs and walks across the room to sit on the bed.
"I'm kidding! Thats Jai." she says still laughing. Okay so Luke has the lip pearcing and Jai doesn't. I don't want to get them mixed up. The other one is Beau. He is still looking at me whilst bitting his lip. He's obviously not afraid to let his eyes wonder down my body.
"Hi, i'm Eleanor, I moved here from England yesterday." Their eyes grow wider.
"Hmmm British?" Beau asks bitting down on his lip harder and jerking his head forwards signalling for jai to come over. His eyes still don't leave my body.
Beau's accent is a little stronger than the others, but I like it. They all get into a single file line. I look at April and she smiles whilst shaking her head. Luke approaches me first getting down and one knee as he kisses my hand. April and I start to giggle. Jai comes next and curtseys before me as though I am royalty. This makes me laugh even more. Now it's Beaus turn to come and greet me, he skips forwards with his hands by his sides, then puts one out to shake mine. When my hand joins in his he pulls me in closer to hug me. His hand laces round my back and he whispers into my ear, "I think English girls are really sexy." I start to giggle and butterflies fill my stomach. He pulls away and winks at me. The butterflies leave quickly.
"Guys she's british, not the queen!" April says still laughing.
"So, shall we finish what we started?" Beau says and looks at April for and answer.
"Yeah sure" She responds and they all take a seat in a circle on the floor. Beau makes room for me and taps his hand on the empty space next to him. I sit down, closer to him than I meant to. He doesn't seem to mind he just smiles.
"We were just playing a little game of truth or dare, you don't have to play if you don't want to." April says to me. I've never played any game like this before but I guess theres a first time for everything. I think about asking how to play but it sounds self explanatory.
"No, it's fine i'll play."
She grabs a bottle hairspray from the dressing table and puts it in the middle of the circle. Luke gives it a twist and we all watch it as it turns slowly. Then it stops. Our eyes are still fixed as it the bottle points in Jai's direction.
