BIRTHDAY UPDATE! *whoop whoop*

::: If somebody were to say to me, Khadejia, you're 15. Do you want to still be provoking random people's feels, whilst calling them munchkins?

My answer would be yes. Yes I do. :::

The songs for this chapter:

~Ellie's P.O.V~

"Hey baby." Beau says through the phone, his voice wrestling over the sound of angry people.

"Hi, could you come over?" I say in a hushed tone.

"Sorry, Ellie, I don't think I can toninght." he adds extra emaphasis onto my name as though he's trying to tell the people around him that he's on the phone to me.

"Oh, okay. That's fine." I chirp, masking the glum look on my face. I know I can't be mad at him for not letting me selfishly consume all of his time but I need him right now.

"Is everything okay babe?" he asks, the concern Is sharp in his tone.

"Eleanor? We're home." My dads voice bellows as the front door slams and is imedietly followed by the swift clicks of my mothers heels across the landing floor.

"Baby?" Beau says again.

"Y-yeah. Everything's great, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay, bye Ellie." he stalls.

"Bye Beau," I sigh and hang up.

"Eleanor?" My mum calls, but I'm too exasperated by today's events that I have no more energy left to take an earful from her.

"Sleeping!" I shout back throwing my body onto my bed.

Despite all that's happened today, I can't keep the grin from my face. I wouldn't call myself an optimist but today wasn't all that bad. I'll try to focus on what I got out of it and not what I lost, since by tomorrow Esme and I may just be friends again.

As for Jai, what he did to me was horrible but he meant well and that's the main thing.

But Beau and I is a whole different story. I don't know whether we're up or down, so I might have to settle with the middle. I know he loves me, I can feel it flowing between us with every kiss, every touch. But I've never heard it said. And the fact that he hasn't said it isn't what upsets me the most.

It's the reason at to why he hasn't said it.

...

"Bye mom." I call.

I'm done waiting for April to come and meet me. I guess she's angry with me too.

I walk away from my house pondering on all the ways that I could fix this mess. But why should I?

I'm not actually in the wrong, Yolanda was the one provoking me! But everyone else is too damn blind to see it.

I watch the small stone roll and swerve across the pavement as I kick it with every step I take.

But then it stops. Just benieth someones foot.

"Hi." April squeaks, wearing a timid smile.

"Hey." I reply in a matching tone.

She walks alongside me in silence. Excruciatingly awkward silence. I hate it.

"So..." I stir her on, hoping to stimulate conversation.

"So are you and Es okay yet?" she asks not managing to meet my eyes.

"We haven't really spoken." I shrug.

"Oh." she says bluntly, twiddling her thumbs. "And are we okay?" She looks up at me.

"I don't know. Are we?" I ask.

"Yeah, well, I guess. Listen," She stops on the pavement and places a friendly hand onto my shoulder. "I don't want to fall out with you, ever. But you've got to realise that Yolanda is some what back to normal now. I know she's done a lot of stupid things but she had intentions that were as pure as gold. I wouldn't trust her if she didn't. I know she can whind you up but that's only because she's afraid that she'll loose us, to you. We'll never forget what she did to you but we can give her a second chance. Right? Just like you have Beau. And even when we spend time together, never forget that it's you. You and Es are the ones I go to for advice, yours are the shoulders that I'd prefere to cry on not hers."

All I can do is smile. I know we haven't known each other for a long time but her words kindle my heart. It's a feeling like nothing else. But it's close to something. Something I've missed.

It's very similar to the feeling I'd get after being around Autumn.

My heart drops a little but is revived by April's warm embrace.

We talk together like usual for the remainder of the walk to school, all until we meet Esme at the gates.

The conversation falls flat as April stares between us.

"Hi." I gulp, fixing my eyes to my feet.

"Hey." Esme says in the same manor. "Listen, about yesterday-" she begins.

"Hey Es!" Yolanda's voice commands from about three metres away from us.

"One second." Esme apologises before skipping off to Yolanda. I shake my head in disappointment. I guess I'll have to put 'making up with best friend' on hold for today's agenda.

"Hey, chin up! Lover boy's on his way." April nudges me, forcing me to jump out of my melancholy mood.

"Hey baby!" Beau chirps. His hand grabs mine whilst his lips plant a smooth kiss upon my cheek.

"Hey. Why the joyous mood?" I nudge him with my elbow.

"You." He beams. He turns towards me talking ahold of my other hand.

"Well I'll see you guys later." April smiles politely and follows the way the Esme and Yolanda went, before I could say goodbye. She turns and grins cheekily and I reply with an apologetic smile but she brushes it off with a shake of her head.

"I've missed you, you know." He smiles sheepishly, rocking our hands back and fourth.

"You saw me yesterday!" I giggle.

"I know. But an hour or two's not enough." Beau sulks drawing little circles into the Tarmac with his foot. "I want you all the time."

"Well you have me now baby." I whisper, closing the gap between us.

I almost forgot that we're actually in public until:

"Brooksey!"

Beau's eyes gaze over my head and I turn to see James and Jai coming our way.

"Oh God.." He smiles, detaching us.

"Hey guys!" James smiles. "Where's Luke these days?" he says, his eyes searching the school grounds.

"With Yolanda." Jai rolls his eyes.

"Yolanda? Why the fuck would he be with Y-" James starts.

"Was that the bell? I'm pretty sure it was the bell. I sure don't want you to be late baby, so I guess you have to go." he panics pushing me away from James.

"I didn't hear anyth-" I start, in confusion.

"No I'm pretty sure that was the bell. Meet me here after school." he pulls me close hastily, planting a forceful kiss onto my lips. I'm sure he just wants to shut me up.

"Okay bye! Love you." I say through the kiss, pushing his chest away from me.

Beau shoots daggers at me both filled with worry and confusion.

Without a word I scurry away waiting until I'm out of his sight to slap myself in the face.

Wait.

Did I really just say that?
