Chapter Sixteen

"Beau!" I moaned.

Jai immediately breaks the kiss and looks at me with fury in his wide eyes.

In less than a second he is away from me and off the bed.

"What the fuck did you just say?" He growls, tugging at his hair and begins to pace up and down the room. He doesn't give me time to answer his question before screaming:

"You bitch! You're a fucking bitch!"

I give him the slyest smile that I can manage, to show him how unaffected I am by his harsh words.

"You just wait! You'll get whats coming to you!" He said through his teeth whist exiting the room, still tugging at his hair.

He slams the door multiple times before I hear his loud footsteps rush down the stairs and out the front door.

The guilt suddenly goes striate to my heart and tugs on its strings. Jai came here wanting to make it up to me. I could tell by his voice that he was being sincere. He was truly sorry. But I still had to do it. I had to get even. No matter how many times he had apologised, I had to get revenge.

He trusted me, he opened up to me, and I ruined it.

I hear laughter making its way up the stairs and spin around to see April and Esme stumbling through the door.

"Do you hear how shaky he was?" April came in holding her stomach in laughter.

"W-w-what did you just say?" Esme mimics Jai's voice and they both crouch down in laughter.

I look at my lap and fidget. I don't know how I'm going to show my face at the party tomorrow.

Tomorrow is halloween. April and Esme had told me about this party that everyone goes to every year. It's fancy dress and apparently a lot of fun. My parents have said that I can go and I have already bought a dress.

The only small problem is that it's at their house. Beau's house.

I was looking forward to it, until now. I can't go after what I just did. He probably hates me. They all probably hate me.

I haven't spoken to Luke since the fiasco in the library, I blanked Beau's calls, twice and just near enough broke Jai's heart.

Well maybe not his heart, just his plans. The dirty plans that he had to take advantage of me.

"Earth to Ellie!" April shouts waving her hand in my face.

"Yeah, what?"

"Did you see his face, that was priceless!"Esme says still giggling.

"Wait to you see his face tomorrow night. He'll shit bricks the moment he sees you walk in!"

"Guys, I'm not going." I say and look down.

"What do you mean your not going. If you don't go now, this plan was all for nothing. You won't be able to rub it in his face." April says.

"It was a mistake. I shouldn't have done that to him. It was mean, cruel even. I probably really hurt his feelings and I don't want to do any more damage."

"His feelings? What about yours? He said those horrible things to you in the library and was planning to take advantage of you all along. Luke said it us himself, he said that Beau would have never hit him if he didn't think you were in danger. But Jai can't hurt you now, you've finally showed him who's boss. You can't let him keep you away from having fun. If you don't go, he wins, Eleanor." April says softly and sits beside me.

Thank God I have good enough friends to talk some sense into me. I can't let him win. I can't let him walk all over me. All he wants is for me to not come tomorrow, he wants me to sit at home and feel sorry for him.
