I wake up and hop striate out of bed. I've decided to go around Aprils today to collect my things. I'm still debating with myself on wether I'm going to tell Esme and April about what happened last night or not.
I get ready quickly and go downstairs.
"Good morning dad!" I chirp. He looks up at me over his newspaper.
"Hello Eleanor, what's put you in such a good mood today?" I shrug my shoulders and walk to the door.
He has a point, why am I so happy? The weather outside is dreadful and I have to face every body at school on Monday. To be quite honest I should be in a horrible mood, but I'm not. It probably has something to do with that boy. The boy that calls me Ellie, the one that sends a thousand butterflies to my stomach just with one touch. Whenever he's near, I feel invincible. Whenever he holds me in his arms I feel as though nothing could ever hurt me.
"Eleanor?" My dad asks.
"Yeah, what did you say?"
"I said, where are you going?"
"Oh, I'm just popping round Aprils, to get my things."
"Okay." I nod and open the door.
"Oh and Eleanor!" He calls me back and I roll my eyes.
"What?"
"Will Beau be there?"
"I'm not sure." But I hope so. "Why do you ask?"
He sighs, putting down his newspaper. His hand taps on the empty space next to him on the settee, silently asking me to sit down. I plod over and flop onto the chair.
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to keep meeting this boy."
"What? Why?" I raise my voice a little bit.
"He doesn't seem like a good influence on you. You're only sixteen Eleanor."
"So? Tyler was eighteen and you still let me hang out with him!" Tyler was one if my good friends back in England.
"Tyler doesn't like to be topless around my daughter. Tyler doesn't have tattoos or a car or likes to throw high school parties."
"It wasn't his party, he has a car because this is Australia, I've already explained why he was topless and his tattoos are meaningful. When did you become so judgemental dad?"
"What is meaningful about a barking dog? Eleanor, when did you become interested in these types of people?" He fires back and my stomach turns.
"These people are my friends. And I will not sit here and listen to your insults." I snap and make my way towards the door.
"I'm trying to look out for you Eleanor. That boy is only looking for one thing, Troye would agree with me on that!" I only just catch his last sentence as I slam the door shut.
His mentioning of Troye breaks my heart. I could imagine him here, with me now, wearing a look of disgust on his face.
My feelings for Troye were not at all as strong as they are for Beau. I loved him like a best friend or a brother. But never anything more. Don't get me wrong Troye was, and still is one of the nicest people that I have ever known. But with Beau it's different, and knowing that my friends and family won't accept this tears me in two.
I reach April's house and the door swings open before I have the chance to knock.
"Eleanor!" She exclaims and pulls me into the house.
"Hi," I sulk, but she doesn't notice. We go up to her bed room quickly.
"I got so worried after you ran off, but I sent Beau to look for you..."
"I know." I blush and look towards the ground.
"Are you guys okay?" I nod and sit in the bed.
"You can't hide that smirk Eleanor. The redness on your cheeks says it all!" So much for hiding it from them.
I shake my head and reach for my phone on her dressing table.
"I had to turn it off, it was ringing all night." April points out as the screen illuminates.
I have fifteen missed calls and ten text messages.
I open the ten texts that read:
Hey baby ;)
Tell your dad that I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself ;)
It was your fault for wearing that dress anyway!
I know you're probably not getting these texts but it's worth a try :)
Missing you already :/ xxx
I need to see you tomorrow (preferably now) but tomorrow will do.
April's going to kill me for this haha :')
I can't sleep :( x
I want an Ellie Teddy to cuddle :) Do you know where I could get one? ;)
Still can't sleep, I'll just imagine you're here...
I sit and smile at my phone for a while. April shakes my arm gently.
"Hello? Earth to Eleanor? Are you going to tell me what happened last night or not?" I nod and begin to fill her in.
She nods when needed and listens closely as I inform her about, how he got wet in the rain and had to take his shirt off, then he came in and kissed away my tears, and about how we kissed on the couch, but I left out the fine details, then that he got caught tickling me with no top on by my parents. She chuckles and grabs my phone.
"What are you doing?" I ask watching her find Beau's number in my phone book.
"Texting Beau. You know you want to see him so don't try to hide it." She smirks and sends a text.
The text reads:
I'm waiting for you at April's baby x You don't need to bring anything, just your sexy self ;)
I scowl at her in disapproval and she shrugs innocently.
He replies shortly:
Will do ;)
She jumps to her feet and claps her hands.
"Here use this." She says handing me her makeup bag. I take it and head to the bathroom.
I don't know what I'm going to say to Beau when he gets here. I'm so unsure of so many things. But i don't want to bombard him with questions. I don't even know if I should continue what ever this is with him. Maybe he'll ask me first, so I won't have to bring it up. What ever happens I know I'll be fine.
Before I exit the bathroom I pull out my phone to check my missed calls. They're mostly from Beau. All of them actually, all except one.
Above the number, Troyes name is sitting on the screen. He called me. After nearly a week he had bothered to actually try to contact me. Just when I thought that he had forgotten that I exist.
This doesn't change my feelings for Beau as I thought it would. It makes me angry and upset. I feel like I've been forgotten. My friends that I've only known for a week care more about me than the ones I've known for the majority of my life time.
I leave the bathroom and walk through the door to see Beau standing in the middle of the room with open arms. I run into them and begin to sob onto his chest.
