The songs for this chapter are:
Dan Smith - Words are words.
Bastille - Adagio for strings. (The normal version is great too, but Bastille's cover of the song is really good, so even if you don't want to listen to it whilst reading, I think you should check it out x It is amazing :3)
One Republic - Counting Stars.
~Eleanor's P.O.V~
I wake up with my phone pressed to my chest. I must have been cradling it in my sleep.
The last thing I remember was Beau's soft voice sending me off to sleep. I squint my eyes and unlock my phone to check the time. It is past noon already and I have three texts from Beau.
*Morning Beautiful ;) *
*I miss you x*
*I can't wait to see you tomorrow! X*
I stare at my phone for a while, admiring the sweet texts.
*I miss you too, why don't you come over now? X* I send the text too soon to realise that it's probably not the best idea. My dad will go ballistic and I was planning in spending a little time with my mother today. Considering that this is her only day off and we haven't had a day together since we moved. I guess the thought of spending time with Beau overruled my priorities.
*I would love to baby, but I've got a lot of shit to sort out x. I might drop by later though :)*
Thank goodness that I didn't have to retrieve my request. Now I'll be able to get everything done.
*Okay see you later x* I relpy.
I hop out of bed and open the curtains to peer out of the two glass doors that lead to my small balcony. My mother included it in the house design because she knew that 'I'd like it' but I haven't been out there since we moved in.
I waltz downstairs and join my mother in the kitchen.
"Good morning dear. You look awfully cheery today!" My mother exclaims. I think what she really means is 'Oh hey, you don't look dead for once!'.
"Mmhm." I grab a box of cereal from the cupboard and pour it's contents into a bowl.
"Crushes can have that effect, can't they?"
I ignore her as I watch the lucky charms float across the ocean of milk. I know exactly what she is trying to do.
"That is all this is, isn't it? Just a crush." She pleads with pure hope lining her voice.
"Mother..." I sigh. I'm not letting her get to me, she'll persuade me into thinking that the feelings that I hold for Beau aren't real.
"You're trying to replace him, even I can see that. You can't hide the truth from me Eleanor."
I don't even have to ask to know that she is referring to Troye. She's always referring to Troye.
"The truth is clear. Isn't it usually the lies that are swept under the carpet?" I correct her and she rolls her eyes.
"You're in denial."
"No you're in denial. You can't get over the fact that there is someone else. Beau and I are not even dating and you're already scared of what might happen. My heart goes beyond the barrier that is Troye and you don't like it. Maybe it's because you're afraid that I'll repeat your history!" I snap, instantly regretting my harsh words.
"You know what? You're right! I don't want you to repeat my history! I don't want you to make my mistakes. Neither of us do. We're only trying to help. Why won't you let us help you Eleanor?" She shouts. I've never heard her sound so desperate.
