lies

Life can feel wrong
A lie that is long
You can lose yourself in the masks you wear
My heart is what it tears

Truth can be harder than living a lie
But somehow it comes out and can make us cry
A tangled web that even for we who spin it
We can be the ones who get bit.

A lie can be easier
But it's almost never better.
The truth came so easy when we were young
When we first learned to lie,oh, how it stung.

We told the little ones first
Then on to the ones that could satisfy the thirst.
The rush that we got from a lie pulled off perfect
It was easy to ignore the after effect
Perfect always meant lots of practice.
Because after all, when the light is lost its easy to give in to the dark
