We're told from birth 'to be alone is a curse'
Surrounded by stories and song and movies of love and romance.
However the resulting affect can be adverse.
Behold, ladies and gentlemen, a feeling we all know; loneliness. In all the old Disney movies we see the girl get her guy.
We read novels hundreds of years old about sickly sweet romance.
All the pretty worded songs that make you want to fly.
Until you don't have a hand to hold and the ground is closer than it looked. An empty aching in your chest that you can't forget.
All the cute couples you see dig the hole deeper.
And you fall asleep only to wake in a cold sweat,
Thinking 'maybe it's me; maybe I'm not right; maybe I'm not enough'And still we seek out the sweet candied words
To feel that all too familiar ache.
Wanting to be with another and called 'love birds'
By close friends and family. So we seek our other half, chasing a day dream.
Hoping beyond hope to have them
To catch that elusive moonbeam.
