Chapter 5:
Dark clouds covered the sky and wind blew through my hair, making it whip in every way possible for short hair. Thunder and lighting rippled through the sky, making it light up.
I ran across a large field when Luke appeared in front of me all of a sudden. "You're so pathetic Amelia, just give up. You'll never get your wings."
Then Kranin and Ryan stood next to him, Ryan's words were harsh. "How is someone so young and small like you supposed to save us, I bet you won't even be able to save my sister." Kranin laughed, "Yeah I'm pretty sure even I would be able to do it better. You're such a worthless little girl, you wouldn't even pass as a simple servant."
Suddenly they all dissapeared and they were replaced by Jackson, he was half laying, half sitting on the ground, clutching his stomach, blood surrounding him. "Why didn't you stay? Why couldn't I come with you? YOU did this to me!!! YOU'RE THE REASON I'M DYING!!"
I clutched my head and fell to my knees before screaming, "No!!!"
---
I quickly opened my eyes, my breathing was fast and irregular. I saw Luke's worried face hovering in front of me. "Are you okay? Were you having a nightmare?"
The angry and defeated face I saw in my dream flashed before my eyes accompanied with a sting of pain in my head. I winced and he quickly held my shoulders. "Amelia it's okay I'm here now, you're okay."
I wrapped my arms around him and felt him freeze for just a second before relaxing and wrapping his arms around me too. "I was so scared..." I quietly whispered as I buried my face in his neck. "You were there but you were so mean and looked so defeated, and Kranin and Ryan were there and they also said such mean things about how I was worthless. Then you all dissapeared and Jack came and he was dying and he said it was my fault, and and and-"
Luke was stroking my head softly and shushing me while I was nearly crying in his arms. "It's okay it was just a dream, I would never be mean to you and I'm sure Jack wouldn't blame you for something like that. And you're not worthless, nobody is worthless, never forget that, nobody is worthless, not the drunk guy who's lying in the street, unconsious, not the woman who lost everything and has to survive off of nearly nothing, nobody." His words soothed me and my breathing was slowly returning to normal.
He planted a kiss on top of my head and looked down at me. "And you're even more worthy than anyone I've ever known." He smiled at me and I smiled back. It was hard to see in the dark but it was okay.
We lied back down on the bed and I snuggled up against him. "Thanks." I quietly whispered, he ruffled my hair a little. "Just go to sleep, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." He replied, I nodded and closed my eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep.
---
When I woke up, the first thing I thought of was food. Seriously, when was the last time I ate? Yesterday morning? Man that's unhealthy.
I tried to get up but something prevented me and pulled me even closer. It was Luke, of course. His arm was wrapped around my stomach and pulled me closer every time I tried to get away.
I groaned a little and decided to just wake him up. I was really hungry, okay? I started pinching his hand and poking his arm and shoulder.
He turned around, half awake, and his arm finally left me. I quickly jumped out of the bed and did a little victory dance until I heard laughing behind me.
I turned around and saw Luke laughing at me, he was proppes up on one elbow and was shaking his head. I shrugged and smiled a goofy smile. I walked around the bed to the door and was about to open it when it already swung open.
