Chapter 16:
"How do you know so much about me?" I ask Lucien and he quickly looks away, scratching the back of his neck while smiling awkwardly.
"How did you know that I had a friend with the same name? How long have you been following me around?" I ask him, suspiciously. He stands up and starts walking to the edge of the barrier. "I just know, I have my ways." He says as he is about to step out of the barrier.
"Wait!" I yell after him, I quickly stand up and run after him. He stops and turns around. I run at him and give him a hug, burrying my face in his chest. "Thank you for bringing Sam here. I was actually feeling lonely." I say before I pull back and smile brightly at him.
His eyes are wide and I laugh at his shocked expression. "Definitely Stockholmsyndrome." He says quietly but loud enough for me to hear. I laugh again before turning around and skipping back to Sam who's laying on the ground watching me with a question expression.
I drop down next to her and pet her head as I praise her for her good behaviour. I glance over my shoulder once and I can see Lucien standing right outside the barrier looking over at me. I see him mouthing: "Damn brat." as he rubs the back of his head with a bit of a pained expression.
---
"I'm hungryyyy!" I whine at the edge of the barrier, right behind Lucien's desk. "Shut up, I'll get you something later." He answers me without looking at me. I pout, "Noooo nowww, I'm hungry, I'm not very nice when I'm hungry you know."
"Yeah you become whiny, stop complaining. Like I said, I'll get you something later." He says as he glances at me and I give him my best puppy eyes. "What're you doing? It looks disgusting." He says and I place my hand over my heart, faking hurt.
"Those were my amazingly adorable puppy eyes." I say proudly and he snorts. "So mean..." I mutter and he starts laughing at me. "Okay okay, I'll get you something now, but shut up once you finished eating all right? I'm trying to concentrate." He tells me.
I grin proudly and nod, "What're you working on anyway?" I ask him as he stands up and starts walking away. "It's a secret!" He yells over his shoulder right before he dissapears into another room.
It's quiet now and I look at the desk curiously. I can see a weird contraption. It's looks kind of like a crossbow but... different. It had army colors and several wires and tiny steel pipes were sticking out. Maybe he's trying to improve it.
The crossbow was still missing a string and I saw some modified arrows next to it with special heads. Some had several ends to increase the damage it would do but with less speed because of the multiple ends. Others were laying on a cloth which was colored red, probably because of the poison dripping from the arrows.
I tried reaching out to touch one of the arrows and the crossbow. But I quickly pulled my hand back, hissing in pain when I felt a sharp sting in my fingers.
Right, the barrier.
I touch my fingers with my other hand and softly rub over them. I take a step back and glare at the invisible barrier.

General P.O.V.
Zero had just woken up and Zilanna was looking at him with worried eyes. He slowly sat up and looked around. Everyone was there except for Amelia.
He was confused for a couple of seconds before the memories came flooding back. He had been in Hood's lair and kept threatening him and running at him. Sadly, the barrier also kept magic at bay, otherwise Zero would've thrown loads of deadly things at him.
