Where are we?

Chapter 2:

I woke up coughing, I coughed out all of the water in my lungs, surprised I was still alive. I moved from my lying position to my hands and knees so the water would get out easier.

After my coughing fit I slowly sat down and looked around me, the first thing I saw was my friends having just as much of a coughing fit as me. I was relieved to see them okay and alive.

I helped them up and we started looking around. "Where are we?" Luke voiced our thoughts.

It was dark all around us and everything had a dark purple or blue color. The ground was dark blue and the grass on it was just a shade darker. We lied in some kind of circle which turned into a path. You could see the path clearly because it was a couple of shades lighter than the rest of the ground.

There were small purple and pink glowing mushrooms around us and we saw fireflies flying around freely. Then we saw amazingly tall and big light blue glowing mushrooms. They had vines hanging down from them in a purple-ish color.

Then there were some trees sprawled out here and there, they looked slightly more normal, the color of the branches were the same normal brown color as from our world. But the leaves weren't actually leaves but kind of like vines hanging from the branches. The vines were white and also glowed. Everything here glowed.

We looked up and saw nothing but darkness. We kept looking and suddenly a ray of purple lights ran over the ceiling and continued on like it was some kind of path, curling in every way and it almost seemed like it moved itself.

We looked behind us and saw a lake with a waterfall, a deer was drinking from it but something was different about the deer. The specks on its fur glowed white and its antlers were dark purple and slightly glowing. It suddenly looked up at us and ran away.

We saw ducks in the lake, mother ducks with small, yellow, furry (feathery) ducklings. They were absolutely adorable.

We looked around the place in awe and started walking around, following the path, wondering where it would lead us.

The ground suddenly shook, we stopped walking and watched as some gigantic mammoths passed us by. We just stood there and watched. We didn't know what to do or how to react so we just didn't do anything.

Something moved around on the ground and I looked down, I saw a small reptile sitting on the ground, looking up at us. It looked kind of like a frog but it was purple with dark spots on its back and it was slightly longer and it had a tail.

"Look." I whispered, trying not to scare the frog. The rest looked at it and Katy said, "This place is amazing... the creatures, the nature, it's just... it's beautiful."

The frog-like creature ran off and then stopped again, looking back at us. It waved it's tail around as if waiting for us to come.

"I think it wants us to follow him," Julia whispered. I nodded and quickly followed the frog, the rest following behind me. We were still confused as to how we got here and how beautiful it was, so none of us even thought of any danger the frog might be able to bring to us, or if it even really wanted us to follow.

We followed the frog off the path and through the strange land we were in.
"It's like we're in a cave..." Luke said,
A cave? "But how could anything live or grow down here?" He wondered,
Katy scoffed and said, "Well these plants and animals don't exactly look normal do they, so I don't think they would need sunlight, and most of the plants here are mushrooms anyway."

We neared one of those trees with the white glowing vines, as we walked under it, I touched the vines, collecting them in on hand and letting them slip out again. I heard whispers when touching the vines and they dissapeared when I let go again.
