By the end of the week, after everybody has been evaluated, we're down to ten people in the house.
Angie and Mark took Grace and Harry to the airport a few hours ago and they're not back yet. I don't care what they do anymore. They can screw each other all they want, as long as they don't do it in front of me.
Everybody has been leaving me alone recently. I like it better this way. So, I move to Mina's room, while she moves in with Angie. I get to have the room all to myself. Better still, cause I would be at the second floor - away from Mark's which is at the third.
He's been acting strange lately - like really really weird. He'd be giving me this glares and smirks, as if he's thinking of killing me in his mind when he sees me. It scares me sometimes. I feel like he's gonna enter my room at night and strangle me to death while I'm asleep.
But, I'm not letting him get under my skin. Who cares what he's thinking anyway.
It's a Saturday and, since we just finished evaluation week, the company has given us this day and tomorrow as rest days. I just plan on sleeping in. Nowhere interesting to go, nothing fun to do, nobody to go out with - well, I shun them off...including Junior....So...
I'm about to take a nap when my dad calls.
"Dad? Any news?" I ask immediately without even saying hello.
He frowns on that though. "You didn't miss me at all, did you?"
I giggle at how childish he's asking. "Sorry. Hi, my loving and understanding dad. How are you? How's mom? What about Grams?"
He laughs then. His laugh is quite empty though.
"Are you sick, dad?" I ask him, noticing he's become even thinner. He looks ten years older than his age.
"Nah." He shrugs. "I just miss you. I'm stressed because you're not even calling."
"Dad. You know I've been busy this week because of the evaluation right?" I explain. "Besides, I called mom last Wednesday."
"Fine!" He scoffs. "Anyway, about Trey..." He opens the topic.
I look at him with expectant eyes, not able to breathe properly cause of my nervousness.
"She's home now."
Suddenly, a big chunk of my worries disappear. I exhale the air I've been holding for a long time. I'm almost in tears in relief. If something bad happened to her, I don't know if I could forgive myself. "Thanks dad. How'd you find her?"
"She was ok. She just..." He looks down, kinda like avoiding my eyes, "wanted to take a vacation for a while. We found her in Paris. She said she used the money left from the one you sent her."
"OMG!" I exclaim. "I can send her more money if she wants. Oh my god. Dad. I love you so much."
"Send her money?" His eyes get bigger. "You mean you'll use my cards to send her money." He sighs and shakes his head. "I'll take care of that. Anyway, don't ever do this again Cristina. If you do, I'll cancel all your cards and let you come home in a minute."
"Yes dad." I nod eagerly. I think I've learned my lesson. Thankfully, Trey is alright. "Uhm...Dad...So, can I call her?"
"Sure, honey. I'll send her number later."
I don't notice it's already almost an hour that we've been talking with him and my my mom taking the phone from each other.
There's something my mom said that doesn't seem to leave my mind though. 'Your dad is already stressed with the firm, so don't give him more problems. Somehow....Ed has...' But, dad got a hold of the phone before she can continue. He immediately changes the subject with my Grams coming to Korea. And I get excited again just hearing that.
