"What do you mean?" I ask him, feeling nervous all over again. But....Mark doesn't know, does he?

"I'm not really sure. I just heard Lara talking to her dad on the phone one day." He stops and thinks. "It's something to do with talking to Mark's dad about the account."

"What account? The one under his name?" I swallow hard.

"I don't know. I'm not really sure. I don't get to have those information, you know. I just do what they tell me to do."

Why? He doesn't need that money. It's just a small amount for him. Why would he risk his name for it? UGGGGHHHH!!!!

"Sean. Do me a favor."

He raises his brows and rolls his eyes. "As if I have a choice."

Really..he doesn't. There's no other way for him but to go with my plans. I just hope he doesn't get swayed by Lara. It's a risk. He might be going behind my back because of his love for the girl. But, it's the only chance I have.

When we exit the resto, I see some men walking towards us. FUCK! I'm guessing they're my dad's.

"Shit!" He notices them, too. "Should we run now?"

"I think so." I whisper back, holding to the hand he offers.

We run as fast as we can like our lives depend on it. He leads me to alleys, into back doors and out another. He must be used to this, he seems to know all the places to run to when you want to lose somebody after you. Finally, we get in a very old building and into one of the units in it.

Panting, I look around and notice how shabby the place is. Has he been living here all this time? Back in LA, they had a decent house, not really a big one, but, something you can show to your friends. How could a father leave his son in this condition?

"You want something to drink?" He asks, opening a rusty old refrigerator and looks inside. "I only have beer though."

"That's fine." I tell him, refusing the bottle he offers.

"So," he sits on a torn leather sofa, and ushers me to sit on one of the chairs, "what do we do now then?"

"I need to call Trey." I take out my phone. Sean shifts in his seat uneasily at the mention of my friend's name. "You should really apologize and explain to her you know." I tell him.

I just then notice the missed calls from Trey and one other number.

"Yo. Trey."

"Fuck, Cris. Where the freak are you?" She says, almost shouting. "You have to come here. I've got..."

"Trey, wait. I'm with Sean." I cut her.

"What? Are you ok? Where are you?"

"I think dad's men are here. They're after us. I'm in Sean's place. Can you come pick me up?"

"No. That's impossible." She says. "They wouldn't be here. Your dad is still waiting for my call."

"What?" Did she just say my dad is waiting for her call? "You...You told my dad?"

Sean's head shoots up, looking at me with scared eyes. I shake my head at him and smile weakly.

"Trey!" I shout. "Did you?"

"Sorry." She takes a deep breath. "Let's talk when I get there."

I tell Sean what I want him to do. After just 15 minutes, Trey sends a text message telling me she's waiting downstairs in the car.

"I'm really counting on you, Sean." I tell him sincerely as I hug him before going down to meet Trey.

"What happened?" Trey asks as soon as I get in the car. "Why are you with him?"
