I looked at Jo in complete and utter shock. I stood there just looking at her trying to wrap my mind about what the hell just happened. As I did that pressure started to drop. The computer notified me with loud beeping.
"Suction." I said calmly.
I finished the surgery easily. I ignored Jo for the rest of the day. I went to Mer's house and told her.
"Wait so your a dirty mistress too?" Mer said with a smile
"Oh shut up," I said sharply, "What do I do? I love her too much just to walk away like that."
"You fight."
What do you mean?"
"You fight for this relationship.  Do something big. I didn't want Derek to walk away so, I did something big."
I knew she was referring to the house of candles. I realized she was right. I plotted out some things to do later that night. I looked at my clock and realized it was 3:47.
Shoot. I have to be at work early.
I went to my bed but I found it difficult to sleep with put Jo by my side.I finally fell asleep... Only to wake up 15 minutes later. I was filled with rage. It just dawned upon me that all these years Jo has been with someone else.
How did she even see him? She was with me or at the hospital 24/7.
Whatever. I don't care anymore I throw out my plans and text Jo
"Look Jo, I thought about this a lot to the point where I can't sleep. Its over. I don't want to be your dirty mistress anymore. Just the thought of you touching someone else makes my skin crawl. So its over." I texted.
I re-read my text and decided to delete the part with the skin crawling. It was true but she didn't need to know I cared. I sent the text. Jo replied almost immediately. She must be loosing sleep too.
"Alex, I don't want to give up! You only know have of the story!" Jo replied.
"Yeah well the first part of the story is all I need to know that this is over."
