Dear Diary,
I still haven't explained about the whole new crush situation, but it's him. Again. It always is. I promise to write an entire diary entry about what happened, but I have a different subject to talk about in this entry.
Heavy metal, death metal, deathcore, metalcore, whatever you call that genre of music has always been a type of music I was taught to stay away from. Me being me, I didn't listen. A while back I discovered some good heavy metal bands. Black Veil Brides, Pierce The Veil, Falling In Reverse, etc. I stopped listening to them after a while, when I got more into mainstream music. Yesterday I was on Tumblr and saw a picture referencing to a band from that genre.
Today I was looking at some of those bands on YouTube and saw in the comment section idiotic statements about how ''emo'' the fans/band was, and quite honestly who the fuck cares if they are. Emo is now an insult? So what if I am emo? I can't help but think who the fuck cares, or how the hell that's a fucking insult? I don't understand the concept of those ''insults''. So me listening to a band that cusses often and has sometimes morbid subjects makes me emo? Just listening to them makes me emo. Think of how pathetic that makes the insult ''emo'' sounds now. Death is something that happens at any given time. Any year. Any month. Any week. Any day. Any hour. Any minute. Any second. I'll bet my favorite beanie that while you're reading this, someone has just died. It happens. Just singing about how some people feel about death suddenly makes them emo now. I find that incredibly and exceedingly idiotic.
Another thing is how everyone makes gay sound like an insult.The ''gay'' insult is just as bad as ''emo''. ''I love reading'' ''That's gay'' I enjoy learning, which is now gay? One of my popular friends' always says ''That's so gay'' or ''Gay much?'' It makes me want to throttle her, and when she invites me somewhere and I decline, everyone wonders why. Well maybe it's because her best insult is about someone's sexuality.
I don't get why either of these words are insults. Emo by definition is a fan of emocore, especially a person who is overly sensitive and full of angst or adopts a certain style characterized by dyed black hair, tight t-shirts and jeans, etc. By listening to a certain genre of music, people are now ''overly sensitive''? What kind of insult is that? ''I listen to Sleeping With Sirens'' ''You're overly sensitive and full of angst'' Great insult. Gay by definition is of, pertaining to, or exhibiting sexual desire or behavior directed toward a person or persons of one's own sex; homosexual. ''I like One Direction'' ''That's gay'' I don't see how that makes any sense. I like listening to a BOYband that's basically telling me -in most songs- how much they love/like me and that makes me like someone of my sexuality, meaning a girl? How stupid does that sound? In my opinion? Very
