frank bandaged all of gerard's wounds and tried to help him as much as he could. he didn't understand how this happened. he didn't even know who 'lyn-z' was.

"gerard, you have to tell me the full story," frank sat down on the floor in front of the couch, where gerard was sitting. "who's lyn-z and what happened?"

gerard sighed. "lyn-z is a classmate of mine... remember when i told you that she wanted to go out for lunch with me?"

frank nodded silently.

"she told me she liked me. i bolted. i ran to a bar and i found bob working there... i had a few drinks..." gerard chuckled. "okay, a lot of drinks. i got really drunk and i never came back to school, nor talked to lyn-z. when i was walking to school, i was jumped. i vaguely saw lyn-z watching, and i heard her talking to them."

frank's mind gradually grew over this thought.

"i found myself in a subway station, bruised and bloody; and i just took a train home."

"no one stopped to help you?" frank asked.

"no." gerard shrugged.

"that's so awful," frank sighed. "who the hell does that? it wasn't your fault that you couldn't say anything to her... it came as a surprise to you. does she know that you're with me?"

gerard shook his head.

"you should tell her," frank stood up. "she might understand."

"i'm scared to approach her again. i don't want her to hurt me."

"c-can i talk to her?" frank stopped walking.

gerard breathed in heavily. "o-kay.."

"i mean-" frank turned around to face gerard. "if you don't want me to, i won't."

"..frankie, if you really want to, then you should."

--

frank followed gerard to the train station the next morning to school to talk to lyn-z. he wasn't going to lie, he was scared for his life, but he knew it was the right thing to do.

he sat next to gerard, staring out of the door window, emotionless. he saw out of the corner of his eye that gerard was staring at him.

frank turned to look at gerard. he smiled at frank, and he returned with a small wink.

"so what are you gonna say to her?" gerard asked with a slight crack in his voice.

"i'm honestly not going to say too much," frank thought about what he was going to say. "i'm just going to tell her that you already have someone, and to lay off."

"alright," gerard faced forward. "sounds good."

frank rehearsed what he was going to say in his mind. he had no clue how lyn-z was going to react, and frankly he was very worried.

frank, did you really just

the train stopped and frank followed gerard out. they walked to gerard's school and arrived there, frank quite out of breath.

"i didnt-" frank breathed. "i didn't know your school was so far."

gerard looked at him and chuckled as he held the door open for him to walk in.

as they entered the building, gerard noticed lyn-z right away. she was standing near a group of women and just talking. he felt lyn-z staring at him and frank as they drew near to her.

lyn-z stopped talking and menacingly started approaching the two, a mean look on her face.

"gerard," lyn-z said with an attitude. "surprised you came back."

gerard sighed. "lyn-z i have to come back, it's school."

lyn-z just nodded as a response. "who are you?" she said, facing frank.

"frank iero." frank replied with a half-smile.

"and what are you?"

"human."

"no, no," lyn-z shook her head. "what are you in relation to gerard? his brother?"

"no," he shrugged. "i'm his boyfriend."

"oh." lyn-z flushed a bright red. "boyfriend." she whispered.

"uhm, yeah," frank drew circles on the ground with the tip of his shoe. "listen, so uh, gerard told me what happened."

lyn-z stared at gerard, as he slowly backed behind frank.

"he didn't mean to bolt out when you guys were having lunch. it just came as a surprise to him. he's sorry." frank cocked his head to the side.

"if he's sorry, why didnt he say it himself?" replied lyn-z.

"he was scared that you were going to assault him again if he came alone."

"oh," lyn-z shrugged. "well alright. it's okay, gerard. i mean, you never told me you had a boyfriend. it's alright."

gerard smiled at lyn-z. "i probably should've told you sooner."

lyn-z brushed her hair behind her ears. "can we still be friends?"

gerard nodded, but tilted his head to the side in thought. "sure."
