gerard took frank back to therapy the next morning. he sat in the waiting room and just thought. what could be wrong with frankie? he's been doing so well, it's weird...
all of a sudden, gerard heard frank screaming. everyone in the waiting room was startled. he couldn't help but think, so many thoughts just flew around.
gerard stood up and walked near dr. toro's door. he combed his fingers through his short white hair, thinking about frank and the distress he could be in right now.
he leaned closer to the door, trying to hear what frank is saying, but it was just way too quiet.
"gerard?" ray opened the door just a crack.
"hi, dr. toro. i just got scared because frank was-"
"can you please come in?" ray said, slightly shaky.
gerard followed ray in and saw his office in complete ruins. the chairs were flipped over, the desk was overturned with papers pulled out and scattered all over the floor. in the corner of the room, he saw frank laying on his side, almost as if he were sleeping.
"what happened?" gerard asked, slowly moving towards frank.
"frank just had a complete meltdown." ray coughed.
gerard didn't respond to ray. he knelt down next to frank and hovered a hand over his shoulder.
"is he alright?" gerard asked worriedly.
ray put his hands up as he neared the two. "i'm not sure."
"is he asleep?"
"most likely."
"can i touch him?"
"you can try."
gerard tapped frank on the shoulder, then left his hand on him. frank didn't move, but he was definitely still breathing.
"frankie?" gerard whispered.
"ugh..." frank groaned. he fluttered his eyes open, still adjusting to the light.
ray and gerard exchanged glances.
"i can't take this anymore." frank turned over onto his face, his voice becoming muffled. "ugh, what's wrong with me."
ray went on to tell frank what had happened. gerard fixed the room as the session was going on, and he heard a lot of what frank was saying to dr. toro. most of the things he said were very deep. he never knew frank felt like this.
gerard took part in the session as well. ray had asked him a bunch of questions pertaining to frank, and they were all very emotional. he had never realized how much frank had told ray - it was more than gerard knew.
after the session was finished, gerard and frank left ray's office and thanked him. once they stepped out of the building, gerard spoke to frank.
"i didn't know you felt that way." gerard said firmly.
frank sighed, head bowed. "i've been feeling this way since that thing happened."
"it's been almost two months, frank," gerard paused. "i just want you to feel better."
"i wish i was better. this feeling completely sucks," frank kicked the rocks on the sidewalk and spun around. "i wish i could love you like i used to."
gerard wrapped his arms around frank. "frankie," he leaned his head against his shoulder and whispered. "i still love you the same."
frank turned around and hugged him back. "i missed you."
"i missed you, too."
