Garvin and Nicki were standing in front of Leigh-Anne and Jesy's bed that same night.
"Why are you here Gar-vin?" Jesy said obnoxiously. She and Leigh-Anne were in their pyjamas and Harvey was in Leigh's lap.
Garvin and Nicki wanted to carry out an experiment. They wanted to see how long Leigh and Jes could stand being apart and which of them would 'crack' first. In previous times they've been okay being apart for two whole days. It had been progress from the way they were two years ago but now it seemed all of that went to naught.
"Jesy I need to explain something about your medicines to you." Garvin said diplomatically.
"Go ahead . . ." Jesy said then looked thoughtful. "Wait I thought you told me everything there is to know already." She pointed out.
"Well this is new info and I also need to check on your current mental state. So come on, we're going to a different guest room." He said.
"Yeah Jes you need this emergency night time session with Garvin." Nicki said.
"Emergency?" Leigh-Anne asked alarmed.
"Well it's not an emergency, really . . . it's more like a surprise check up." Garvin pacified her.
Jesy shrugged. "Okay . . . just make it quick." She hopped of the bed, kissing Leigh-Anne's cheek on the way down.
"Does it have to be one on one?" Leigh-Anne asked almost nervously.
"Yes it does babe." Nicki said.
"I'll be fine Princess." Jesy said following Garvin towards the door. "I'll rush him so I can come back to you." She blew Leigh a kiss and waved as she exited.
Leigh-Anne's eyes followed her out and she gulped as the door was closed gently behind Jesy and Garvin. Of course they'd been apart for therapy sessions this week before but it was night now and close to bed time. It felt strange to not have Jesy right next to her.
"How you doing Leigh?" Nicki asked sitting next to her on the bed. "I thought we could just talk until Jesy comes back."
Leigh-Anne looked at her. "I'm good I guess." She said with a tight smile.
"So I've noticed that you and Jes have been even closer than ever since she's been back . . ." Nicki started, kind of casually.
Leigh-Anne nodded. "I like to keep her close so that she doesn't ever leave me again . . . losing her felt like losing my head." Leigh said petting Harvey.
"But don't you think you're taking it just a tad too far?" Nicki asked squinting.
"You're talking about watching her in the loo aren't you?" Leigh said sounding embarrassed. "She made me stop . . . I just stand outside the door and wait for her to come out now."
"But isn't that still . . . I don't know . . . strange?" Nicki asked.
"I think it's just being careful . . . I mean who knows what can happen while she's in there alone." Leigh said looking almost fearful.
"MMhhmm." Nicki said slowly. "Sounds like you're paranoid babe."
"I just want her near me all the time. Any time away from her is crazy. I've had too much time without her. A month without her . . ." She shuddered. "Do you understand what a month with out your everything is like Mum? It's basically a deep dark hole and only your everything can fill it again. I don't want her out of my sight for a minute." Leigh breathed in deeply. "Where is she? What's taking so long? I miss her." Leigh whined.
