Luke rubbed at his head and stumbled to his feet.  He looked down at the person who'd ran into him.  It was a girl.  He would have cowered if she wasn't so . . . Well first of all she looked as if she was terrified of him . . . And second she was as beautiful as Perrie was.  Her eyes were kind and he felt compelled to help her in someway.  It was almost like he wanted to apologize even though she was the one that ran into him.

"Are you okay?" He asked her putting out a shaky hand to help her to her feet.  Even though she looked nice he was still cautious. Looks could be deceiving.  Actually she looked familiar.

She wasn't taking his hand and he wondered if she was confused.  He pulled his hand back and tilted his head trying to figure her out. "Uhh . . . do I know you from somewhere?" He asked shyly.

Leigh-Anne was trying to catch her breath.  When she knocked into that little boy she nearly had a heart attack.  She was shaking all over and trying so hard not to hurl.

"Perrie . . . you're Perrie's sister aren't you?  The nice one who's like a princess and a Mummy all at once.  I was at your party . . . but me and Perrie were playing fashion show in her room so I didn't see you.  Are you okay Perrie's sister?" Luke asked.

Leigh-Anne breathed a sigh of relief.  It was just Perrie's friend.  He wouldn't hurt her. She swallowed some air and tried to get up even though her body wanted to curl up and hide. "H-hi Luke." She whimpered out.

Luke had seen that look of fear in her eyes too many times on himself. "Has someone hurt you?" He asked feeling genuine concern for the pretty girl.

The question made Leigh-Anne gag a little. Yes she was hurt.  She was so badly hurt her heart and her brain felt like they would implode.  But just thinking of the hurt made her feel more pain.  She wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to say it.  How was she supposed to tell Jesy . . . much less Garvin.  She was stuck with this horrible experience forever.  She got to her feet and ran off, away from the boy.

Jesy saw Leigh-Anne running away from that blond kid she was sure Perrie fancied.  He looked confused and a little scared.  She had to swerve to the right to avoid bumping into him.

"Hey . . . pretty girl?" Luke called out to Jesy as she tried to hurry pass him.

"What kid?" She called over her shoulder only slowing down a bit.

"Someone hurt her.  Are you going to help her?"

"That's right.  I'm gonna save her little ass." Jesy said picking up speed again.

"Okay!  I hope she's the one Perrie said needed help.  'Cause if you're helping her that means I can go play with Perrie!" Luke yelled waving.  Perrie's family was nice. He hoped they were all okay.  He walked off to search for Perrie.

Jesy didn't bother to try figuring out what the crazy boy version of Perrie was saying.  She saw Leigh-Anne dash behind a tree. She stopped running three feet away from the tree and tried to stretch to relieve the pain in her body.  She brushed her fingers through her hair and caught her breath so it wouldn't look like she just dashed over here like a lunatic -which was exactly what she did.  She wanted Leigh-Anne to think she was calm.

Jesy breathed in deeply then walked up to the tree and peeked behind it. "Leigh-Leigh?"

Leigh-Anne had been hugging her knees and shaking trying to block out her horrid thoughts by thinking of Jesy.  When she actually heard Jesy's voice she felt her heart give a little kick. "Jes?" She turned around and was grateful to see Jesy peering down at her from the other side of the tree.

"That's right princess." Jesy said with a sheepish grin. "Can I sit with you?"

Leigh-Anne couldn't nod fast enough.  The tears running from her eyes were now not only of utter trepidation and terror but of relief as Jesy sat next to her.  She climbed into Jesy's lap and hugged around the older girl's torso without thinking.  She just seriously needed the comfort and safety right then.
