"Hey (Y/N), it's me," I heard him say, "Alfie." I turned toward him and smiled.
"Hey! When did you get here?" I asked.
"Awhile ago, but Zoe and I were talking for a bit," He explained. That makes sense, they're dating.
"Right! Speaking of, where is she?"
"I have no clue," He answered, looking down at the ground. Well that was a quick change of mood. Weird. Wait, mood! I have to talk to Joe!
"Can I catch up with you later Alfie?" I asked, "I have something I need to do." His eyes remained trained on the floor and he nodded. "Thanks." I made my way across the room that was now filled with people. When I reached the kitchen counter where Joe was, his eyes lit up and he smiled again.
"Hey! You don't look as nervous anymore, princess." He poked me and I smiled back.
"I'm not," I agreed, "But something's up with you."
"Umm, not really." He replied, running his hand through his hair.
"Then why did you look like you were about to scream earlier?" I asked.
"I have my reasons."
"What are they?"
"Mine, that's what they are."
"Okay... But would you at least tell me how you're feeling? Are you mad, or sad, or-"
"It's nothing, (Y/N)." He said, raising his voice slightly. Geez, did I say something wrong? He started walking towards the door and I followed him.
"Joe, what's wrong?" I asked again.
"Let it go, I'm fine." He said, opening the door and going into the hallway. I caught the door before he slammed it and followed him out.
"Joe just tell me-"
We both froze at the sound of a sob coming from the other end of the hall. Joe turned to look at me, then looked back into the hall. At the end, sitting against the wall and sobbing into her hands, was Zoe.

Omigosh guys, this chapter is waaaay shorter than I thought it would be, sorry! I'm trying lol and I will attempt to have some long chapters sometimes as a bonus! I'm so used to regular book chapters that my fanfic chapters seem sooooo short to me! Are they a good length or are you mad that they're not longer? I want to know! If they're shorter I can update more often, but then they'd be short! Tell me and I'll react accordingly lol love you guys!
