Your Perspective:
The lady at the front desk rolled her eyes as we walked in the door- just a group of annoying kids to her. She probably didn't know who any of us are. Then she surprised me by quickly holding up two keycards.
"Here you go, Joe," she said, handing the cards to him, "Although maybe I should have given them to the responsible one." She nodded at Zoe. I hid a giggle.
"No thanks, Claire. I'll take them." he replied. He lead us up the stairs and down the hall to room 214. He was walking confidently- he must have been here quite a few times. "Alright, Zoe and I can share this bed and (Y/N), you can have that one." He said, pointing at the one closest to the window for me. I dropped my bags at the end of the bed and flopped down on it.
"This is the most comfortable bed ever, oh my God." I exclaimed, hugging a pillow and curling up in the middle of the mattress. Zoe laughed.
"Well it's time to sleep anyway, so you'd better get comfortable," she said, "And don't you two stay up talking either. We're going to need sleep for tomorrow." In all honesty, I wasn't tired at all. I had slept most of the time on the plane, and now I was wide awake. But I knew that if I didn't sleep now, I'd be tired tomorrow, so I rolled over and put my head on the other pillow, still hugging the first one. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.
When that didn't work too well, I let my mind wander and think about what tomorrow would be like. Would everyone like me? Were they going to want to collab with me, or hang out again later? Would I be able to talk to them without stuttering with starstruck syndrome? After what had to be at least an hour of this, I felt the other side of the bed move, and I rolled over quickly, panicking. I couldn't see very well in the dark, but I saw the outline of a person sat down on the edge of my bed. I inhaled to scream, but the stranger's hand shot out and covered my mouth.
"Shh, it's just me!" he whispered. I exhaled in relief. It was Joe. "Zoe is finally asleep, so we can talk."
"Um, about what?" I whispered back, confused.
"A few things." He shrugged, and laid down next to me, on his back. "First off, what's your name? Like, your full name. I don't actually know it."
"(Y/F/N)." I replied, eyebrows furrowed as my eyes adjusted to the dark. Why didn't he ask me this earlier? It must be somewhere around midnight by now...
"I like it." he decided, smiling. "Mine is Joseph Graham Sugg. Your turn."
"To ask a question?" I asked.
"Yeah, I want to get to know you." he explained, turning towards me so that he was now on his side as well. I could smell him- not like his cologne, he wasn't wearing any. Just him.
"Uh... When's your birthday, I guess." I said. It was all I could think of.
"September eighth, yours?"
"Mine?" My mind went blank. Think (Y/N), think! "Oh, um, (your birthday)." He laughed quietly.
"Our birthdays are (time distance) apart," he observed. There was a pause.
"Your turn," I reminded him.
"I know, I'm thinking." He paused again before asking, "What do you look for in a guy?"
I opened my mouth, then stopped. Why did he ask that? He just wants to get to know you, (Y/N), I told myself. It's not like he wants to know who you like or anything. Just what you like in someone. I blinked twice, then responded.
"I guess just a great personality. Someone I can relate to, and someone who is nice to me and tries to understand my feelings. And I like it when a guy is sensitive, I guess." I said it quickly, not giving as much thought to it as he apparently wanted me to, as he frowned. "What?"
"Keep going."
"What else do you want me to say?"
"Be more specific. That answer could be true for anyone."
"Alright... Well, I know I would want a guy who shows affection to me, like he would hold my hand and hug me, even if we were in front of his friends. And I like it when a guy can tell me what he's thinking, without having to worry about being judged. I like it when a guy tells me what he likes about me, with more than just compliments. I don't want a guy to tell me I'm pretty so much as tell me I'm intelligent or kind or..." I trailed off. "Something like that, I guess." Joe smirked.
"Well then, let's try something." He grabbed my hand gently and looked me in the eye. "(Y/N), I've only known you a few weeks but... I like you because you're funny and caring and weird in the best way, and I never have to worry about being judged around you, so don't worry about that." He looked away, shyly. Joe is never shy, I thought fleetingly. "I guess the point is, I really like you." It felt like my heart stopped. How am I supposed to respond to that? I thought pathetically.
"I... Um..." I began.
"I'm sorry," he said quickly, in a voice that made it seem as though he just realized he had made a mistake.
"No no no, don't be sorry! I'm just not good at this type of thing, and I'm not sure how to respond, and I wasn't expecting it, and-"
He kissed me.
Joe freaking Sugg kissed me to shut me up. My eyes widened in surprise, then closed as he deepened the kiss. He had dropped my hand and put his arm around my waist, pulling me toward him. His hand traveled up to my neck and he started playing with my (hair color) hair. Then, after what felt like forever and too soon at the same time, he pulled away. He smiled again.
"Then I guess I'll give you some time to think about it." he whispered. He moved to get up, but I instinctively pulled him back before I had time to think about what I was doing. I wasn't sure if I like him like that or not, but I knew I didn't want him to leave. He smirked and laid back down next to me, pulling me close to him. I was grateful he didn't kiss me again, for fear that I didn't feel the same way, but it was an amazing kiss...
I curled into him and closed my eyes. God, he smelled good. But did I really like him like that? I chose to live in the moment and think about it later, for once. I was in the same bed as Joe Sugg. I was just going to take it for what it was worth.
