"Who are you?" I ask in a tone more rude than I'd meant it to be.
"I'm Sam," he says. "I'm your uncle."
And my jaw basically hits the floor.
-----
I'm standing silently for a while before Sam speaks again. "Want me to take your bags?" He asks. The hesitancy is obvious when I remove my bags from my shoulder. I clear my throat awkwardly in the door frame while Sam puts my bags on a small, two person couch. When he looks back at me and Castiel, he motions for us to come inside. Castiel is quick to come inside the warm motel room. Thinking of the temperature difference and how impossible it would be to run home, I step inside, slowly shutting the door behind me.
When I turn back around to face Sam, he's sitting on the full sized bed furthest from the door. Castiel is standing awkwardly in the middle of the room, however, not as awkwardly as I am. "You can sit on Dean's bed if you'd like," Sam offers. "Or the couch...or the desk chair." Without words, I moved slowly to where Sam was sitting when Castiel and I entered the motel room.
Before an awkward silence can begin, I ask a growing question. "Where's Dean?"
"He'll be back soon," Sam answers. "He was out getting some stuff for the ride home."
"Where are you guys going?" I ask, before I can bite my tongue. Curiosity killed the cat.
"Back home," he answers vaguely.
Thankfully, Castiel is quick to speak up before I can once again question Sam. "Sam, Ava is in danger." Sam's eyebrows furrow as Castiel continues to explain what I'd told him earlier about the Black-Eyed man, Creepy Dick, and Crowley, though he failed to include himself.
Sam's face goes through a wide range of emotions. First, confusion as Castiel explained that I was in danger. Anger and worry when Castiel mentioned the three people apparently causing the danger. Then just worry as he looked at me, probably trying to find the words to say.
"Cas," he finally says. I'm thankful it wasn't me. "can we talk outside for a moment?"
Castiel understands why Sam wants to take the conversation elsewhere, but I'm stuck in confusion. Castiel and Sam walk out the front door and I'm still for only a moment before standing quickly to eavesdrop on the conversation.
"Crowley, demons, and Dick, Cas, that's a hell of a lot more than danger!" Sam's voice whisper shouts. How does Sam know Dick and Crowley? And demons? What's with that? "That kind of stuff is life or death for her."
"I know this, Sam." Castiel voices. "That's why I brought her here. You and Dean can–"
"Dean already made it clear he doesn't want her around right now." I knew it, I think to myself. I knew my dad wouldn't want me. "Maybe one day if all of this stops happening, but that day might never come. What do we do for her then? And what are we gonna say when–" Sam is interrupted by a car engine pulling close. A door opens and shuts and a new voice joins the conversation.
"Hey Sammy, I didn't know what kind of stuff you wanted, so I just bought some of the healthy crap you always eat." That voice. It's been engraved into my memory after only three times of listening to it over the phone.
It's my dad.
My eyes widen as I quickly look around for something to busy myself with when he comes in. Taking into consideration the educated assumption from Sam, I go to my bags and pretend like I'm rearranging it, hoping to walk out the door when they come in. I can hitchhike back home, I guess. I know for sure my parents wouldn't want to come pick me up, no matter how worried they must be.
