My eyes snap open in fear and I sit up, looking around. I find Dean sitting beside me on the bed, fear all over his normally calmer features. I look over at Sam to see him at the foot of my bed, just as worried as my dad.

"What happened?" I ask breathlessly.

-----

"You've been screaming for an hour." Sam explained. "We've been trying to wake you up, but you wouldn't open your eyes."

"I was about ready to take you to the hospital." Dean adds softly. I look down at my hands, my heart still beating rapidly in my chest. I felt like I was gonna be sick. Cold sweat covered my skin head to toe. I jump at the feeling of Dean's hand resting itself on my shoulder. He notices and removes it. "Are you okay, Ava?"

I look up in time to see Sam whack Dean. "That's a stupid question."

"No, it's not." I rebuttal. It wasn't a stupid question. I take a deep breath, running a shaking hand through my wet, sloppy bed head. "I'm good, I think. Now that I'm awake, that is."

"What were you dreaming about?" Sam asks curiously. I'm sure they wonder that everytime I wake up from a nightmare. Sometimes I do as well.

"I don't remember all of the details, but there was a voice." My body trembles as I reminisce on the sinister voice from my dream. "I couldn't see who it belonged to. And it knew I couldn't see it. Then there's was a loud screeching that I never thought would stop."

"You okay now, kiddo." Dean says. The way he says it isn't very reassuring though.

"Whatever that was, it was all a dream, okay?" I nod more for my dad and uncle than for myself. That didn't feel like it was just a dream. It felt too real, just like all my other nightmares.

"Do you want us to stay up with you, or do you want to try going back to sleep?" Dean inquires, his head slightly cocked to the side, his green eyes darkened with worry.

"You guys can go back to sleep." I answer vaguely. I might close my eyes for a while, until they fall back asleep, but I wasn't going back into that dream again.

They both hesitated on my bed so I gave them a reassuring smile. I'm sure it looked like a world's-most-awkward-dentist-visit smile, but both Dean and Sam went back to the respective beds and soon fell back asleep. Me, I opened my eyes again as soon as I heard the first snore from Dean. I grabbed my phone and busied myself with playing Flow to keep my brain awake as best as I could.

After a while the icky feeling of my sweat started to disgust me. I got out of the bed as quietly as I could and went into the bathroom and turning on the shower as swiftly as I could. I just did a quick rinse and washed my body with a sweet smelling soap that I'd gotten myself a while back, not wanting to use motel soap. Ew. I got out, dried off, redressed myself and went back into my bed. When I go to unlock my phone I see that I have a text message.

And it's not from Ariana.

Unknown: Good dreams last night, Winchester?

I froze in place. Was it possible for someone to change my dreams? To control what my mind came up with, especially no more than an hour ago? Who was this unknown person anyways? I was ready to wake up Dean or Sam when my phone buzzed in my hand. I looked down at the new message nervously.

Unknown: Remember what happens if you tell Daddy...

And suddenly, I did. I remembered the text the unknown number had sent me a small while after I'd met Dean, Sam, Cas, and Bobby. I can't let that happen. I have to grow up and take care of my own problems, even though I'm just fifteen. I'm not going to let some small bit of paranoia kill the people I love. Their the only blood family I have left and I wasn't going to lose them that easy.
