Leo's POV

Nobody spoke on the down from Olympus. We were all just silently crying knowing what we had to do. I didn't want want to cry, but they came automatically and I felt like my younger self when Gaea destroyed my home. With fire.

We walked back to our hotel in silence. Again. Well, until Percy spoke up. "Guys, Piper wouldn't want us to be sad and crying. If it saves the world, then, she would let us do it." He didn't explain what "it" meant but everyone seemed to know.

Leo glanced at Jason who stood there pale, and tears were streaming down his face. "I've hurt her so much" Jason whispered. "And now, I have to..." He trailed off but Leo understood.

He put a hand on Jason's shoulder, "Jason. I've known you and Piper for... let's just say very long. And Piper would want what was right, enchanted by a giant or not." Jason just shook his head and took a paper from a nearby newspaper stand.

The title says, 3 Murders This Week. And under that article was another, Pop Star and Actress Piper McLean Goes Missing. Great Piper was off killing mortals. Jason showed the group and Percy went white.

"My mom..." He whispered. Hazel took Frank's hand and spoke up,

"Guys... this will be hard, we all know it. But it'll save the world so we have to do it. Let's just get back to L.A and do what we need to do quickly." Everyone nodded except Jason who squeezed his eyes shut and bit his lip.

Somewhere in L.A...

Piper's POV

The red eyesight comes and goes each day. My urge to kill has become like a need, almost like how you feel when you haven't eaten for days. Sometimes, I regain control and hide from civilization in sadness because of what I have done. So far I've killed three mortals. I can't believe what I have done. It was just a normal day. I was in control, and as I was walking past three teenagers, the red came. I dragged them down an alley and killed them swiftly and quickly with Katoptris.

I learn my eyes turn red when the eyesight comes which means I must hide from everyone. I decide to look at Katoptris which was a very bad idea since what I saw wasn't pretty. I was lying in a pool of my own blood with a sword in my stomach. Jason was crying and holding me while I was talking to him. Now, I realize that Jason never stopped loving me, he had loved me this whole time. And now I'm going to die. Great. Just Great.

I put Katoptris back in horror because of what I saw. I had to go get Jason. I can't change fate but I can try.

On a plane to L.A✈️

Jason's POV

I look out into the window of my plane seat with Leo and see L.A's busy city below us.

Leo clears his throat and pulls something from his bag, "Hey, bro. I brought these with us 'cause I'd thought eventually you'd need it. He gives me three pictures. Two of Piper, Leo and me and one of me and Piper. The two are selfies of the three of us after the war and we were allowed to visit Paris. We were standing under the Eiffel Tower. The first one Piper had her arms around of us and the second was me kissing her cheek and Leo looking like an idiot sticking out his tongue at us. The last picture made tears come to my eyes. It was a few months after the war, two days before Piper left. Piper and I were on the roof looking at a meteor shower, I didn't realize Leo took a picture.

I glare at him and he puts his hands up in an I-Surrender pose and admits, "Ok, Maybe I did crash your party but at least you have a photo!"

"True. Thanks, Leo, I needed that." I say, truly meaning my words. I fist bump him and we start landing in L.A.

Piper, here we come.
