Sometime in the future...

"They're going to come back you know?" Jason smirked as I groaned and pulled the blanket on the couch above my head and stroked our German Sheppard, Cooper's head.

"I know, I'm just savoring the moment of peace and quiet," I said, mumbling into Jason's shoulder.

Jason was a cop and I was still and actress and singer. Corinne and Jason had both agreed that they were best off as friends, and besides, Corinne had gotten married just a few months ago.

Before I knew what was happening, the door opened.

"We're home!" Brielle, our sixteen-year-old daughter walked in, dropping her bag onto the ground.

Kayden, Brielle's twin brother, walked in behind her, a bored look on his face.

Cooper happily ran to them and I walked towards them, smoothing the wrinkles on the pair of jeans I was wearing.

"How was school?" I asked them as I hugged both of them.

"Boring," Kayden snorted as he bent down to pet Cooper.

I smiled at his attitude. He was the captain of the football team, whereas Brielle, was the captain of the swim team. They were so different. It sometimes was unbelievable that they were twins. They didn't even look the same. Brielle's light brown locks with blue eyes was not the same with Kayden's blonde hair and green eyes.

"C'mon, there must've been something exciting," Jason appeared beside me.

Kayden snorted. "Besides the fact that Oliver Jackson asked Brielle out, nothing was even close exciting."

My eyes widened as turned my eyes towards Brielle who was now sending glares towards her brother.

Jason raised his eyebrow. "Oliver asked you out?"

Brielle blushed, looking down at Cooper. "Yeah, and I also invited him over for dinner tonight,"

Jason did a double-take. "Wait. Honey, he just asked you out and you invited him over for dinner tonight?"

Brielle rolled her eyes. "I really, really like him, and he really likes me back. Is that okay?"

Kayden gagged. "She's been like this all day," he rolled his eyes. "I like him, he likes me!" Kayden imitated Brielle.

Brielle slapped her brother's shoulder. "Shut up, Kayden."

Kayden snorted but kept his mouth shut and kept rubbing the back of Cooper's ears.

I looked at Jason, who had a hesitant look on his face.

Cooper also whined and looked up at Jason.

I smiled, gently. "Of course, it's okay." I kissed Jason's cheek. "Your father is just a bit overprotective."

Jason rolled his eyes. "I wasn't worried about that, I was worried since we invited everybody over for dinner tonight."

Realization hit me hard. We had invited the seven, Nico and Thalia.

"It'll be fine," I reassured Jason. "You don't mind Oliver meeting everyone, right?" I asked Brielle.

Brielle shrugged. "It wouldn't hurt,"

I took a deep breath. "Well then, one more guest to feed." I turned to Kayden. "Put your football jersey in the wash, Kayden."

"What?" Kayden hugged his jersey to his chest as he lifted himself of the ground from Cooper. "Mom! You can't just wash it now! I have a game tomorrow!"
