Chapter 17

Piper's POV

I walked and walked. Straight to the stupid cave where Enceladus was living. His back was turned to me and he was talking quietly to a girl. 

"Now, now. All I need is one task. Kill the girl! And then you'll be free! Got it?" I heard him warning the victim. 

"Okay! Please... I'll kill her! just let me go!" A familiar voice pleaded. A voice I have always dreaded. Reyna.

"Good girl. Now run al-" But he was cut off when I threw Katropis towards him, letting it sink deep into his spine. 

"I'm done playing games. You. Me. Right here, right now." I said and started sprinting. 

I ran towards him as fast as possible. Silently hoping Camp Half-Blood training instincts would kick in faster. As soon as my dagger was in reach, I grabbed the hilt and ripped it downwards, leaving a big long cut on his back. 

"Reyna. If you want to survive, now is a good damn time to help me." I growled out.

Reyna looked up. "Right." She jumped up and sheathed out a sword. Where did she even get that from? Wait. Piper! Stop daydreaming! You might die right now! "Enceladus... I'm deeply sorry but the girl will have to wait. You're the first one on my kill list!" Reyna winked at me before stabbing Enceladus in the leg making him roar in anger and pain.

"You stupid demigods!" He yelled out before lumbering towards the two of us. I looked at Reyna, pointing my head to a long piece of rope around ten metres away and mouthed, grab the rope and run left. Enceladus charged forward hoping to hit both of us but thank the gods, Reyna understood. I ran to the right and she ran left. 

"Piper!" Reyna yelled and threw one end of the rope to me which I gratefully grabbed. We quickly turned direction and charged towards Enceladus. He roared in confusion as we ran in circles around him; tieing him up. He was too confused and before he knew it, he was on the ground wrapped up several times in rope. Reyna took deep breath before looking at me with her dark eyes. "Piper, do the honours?" She asked me.

I shook my head, "No, let's do it together." I told her. We both walked up to Enceladus; weapons in hand. "On three?" I looked at her. She nodded. I took a few deep breaths, "Okay, on three. One... two... THREE!" We both stabbed our weapons deep into Enceladus' chest. In a few seconds, he would turn to dust. 

A few minutes later, Reyna turned towards me hesitantly. "Piper... I-I want to explain what happened three years ago." Oh. That misunderstanding. 

"I'm fine Reyna. Honestly." I said, wiping my hands on my shorts but Reyna wasn't finished.

"No! I did something wrong, and I've been living with the guilt ever since! Then you come along and save my life. I owe you." She said angrily.

I walked up to her and hugged her tightly. "You don't owe me anything. I know three years ago that you were just jealous but seriously, I forgive you." I pulled back and smiled at her and she returned it. "We should start looking for Jason and the others. If we're gonna try to defeat Gaea again, we might as well be together in a pack."

Reyna nodded with determined eyes. "Yeah. I think I know where they might be going. There's a hideout Chiron made a few years back for demigods. It should be here around L.A somewhere."

A demigod hideout in L.A? That's new news to me. "Ok. So... where should we start looking?"

"I know that it is hidden in some sort of alleyway." She replied. Ugh. Alleyways. I've had enough of those things. "We can start looking on some streets but the only problem is... Piper... they're going to recognize you." 

All my blood rushed to my head, swaying me off balance. My human status. Hailey. She could probably help me. "Reyna? I have an idea. My mansion isn't far from here. We could use a change of clothes and my manager, Hailey, could cover my story for me. But there's one problem with this plan... I need you to be ready for fame."

Reyna frowned. "Fame?"

I nodded, "I'm going to go back to the acting and singing days."

"This is your house?" Reyna asked in disbelief as we entered the private estate up in a hill above L.A.

"Yeah." I cheeks started heating up. I've never really shown anyone my mansion. We entered the main hallway just after opening the front doors. A grand staircase led up to the second floor. I waved toward it. "C'mon, this way." We walked up the stairs and entered my room, not far from the stairs. 

"Okay, so first... we need outfits." I scanned my walk-in closet; surrounded by dresses, skirts, shoes and clutches. I found two dresses that were matching but different colour. I walked out holding them out to Reyna. They were two, two peice dresses. The top was some kind of fancy lace and the bottom was a beautiful flowy skirt. "We could be matching!" I handed her the purple one while I took the blue one. 

Reyna looked hesitant. "I dunno Piper. You're... you're used to wearing this. I don't even know if it will look good on me! And it looks so expensive." She looked at me and I could truly see the doubt in her eyes. 

I smiled, "Reyna, you will look AMAZING in this. Trust me." I ushered her and the purple dress towards the washroom. "Get washed up and change now. We only have a few hourse before it will be red carpet time." 

With Reyna in the washroom I stared at my light blue dress. I suddenly realized, I had never ever worn it before. Well, it would look amazing on Reyna. Suddenly, the door of the washroom opened and Reyna walked out looking STUNNING! "Oh my god Reyna. You look beautiful!" She had blow-dryed her hair so it was in gentle waves across her shoulders and her tanned skin matched perfectly with the light lilac coloured dress.

Reyna blushed, "T-Thanks."

"Okay, I need to get changed. Then we can get our makeup and jewelry done. Reyna, you ready for fame?" I asked, eyebrows high.

She nodded, "fame, ready or not, here I come."
