Dear Simon,
Chester is in college now, it was his first day today. He called and told me all about it. He bought me an iPhone so that we can Facetime. He is only a 3 hour drive away from me, which is a good thing It could be worse. I miss him already.
He left his entire movie collection for me to watch when I get bored but it isn't the same without the warmth of his body to cuddle up. I was completely spoiled with him here. The depression starts to creep back in, but I remember that I have the baby on the way and most days, I try to plan out how much of a great mother I will be.

Dear Simon,
Mom is back. I didn't greet her when she came in yesterday. Her hair was shorter and she had a tattoo on the side of her neck that read 'David', in italics. She brought a lot of groceries and left them right on the kitchen table, then disappeared to her room. I tried to put them away but I got tired and fell asleep on the couch.
I heard her crying all night. I guess her and David didn't work out.
It angers me that I am not more hurt by her disappearance. I should be outraged but I expected all of it. If I wasn't happy and bouncing off the walls, she was never a mother to me.
I don't care to know who David is or why she chose to spend months with him instead of help take care of her pregnant daughter. I just know that as soon as I had this baby, I would need to find another place to stay. Money was definitely an issue. Chester still mails me checks.
At first I thought it was very odd to just be given that much money each month, I wondered why his family did it, but then I realized that it was probably because Chester told them he liked me a long time ago.
I realized last week that the money was coming from Chester's inheritance. He had more money than he needed and didn't know what to do with it. Still, asking for rent for an apartment seemed a bit like a stretch.
At least I don't have to buy groceries for a while. I haven't been eating anything to harm the baby. I've also been singing and reading to him a lot.
I can't wait to see what he looks like.
