Luke's POV My heart was breaking. I totally even forgot about having coffee with Caroline. I hadn't seen her in forever, and we split up almost 20 years ago. She is married with two little boys Avery 4 and Hunter 2 and was passing through Nashville on her way to her mamas in Georgia. I just hope Katie calms down enough to listen to me, hell I could see how upset she was and the worse thing of all is I don't even know what I said. After grabbing some breakfast I decided that I was gonna head out and feed my catfish and then go over to mamas and take Til fishing, some man time and hopefully we can talk tonight.

After I text Jacob I packed a few things to go back to my Mamas in Prospect. I was only going for a few days until things calmed down. I would just tell them I had a few days off. I know I am probably over reacting but as they say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I saw Luke head out in his truck and text Jacob that I would pick him up at his place. I left Luke a note,
Dear Luke,
I am heading out to my mamas for a few days with Jacob. I just need some me time. It hurt me to hear you call me by another woman's name, and I know you would never do anything to hurt me intentionally. I just need time to think. Please respect my choice here and hopefully I will see y'all in a few days.

God that felt like I was saying goodbye to him forever which is no way what I want to happen. This is my way of dealing with things.
I packed up my truck and headed to Jacobs. I arrived at his and he came out with his bags, "Hey Katie, so what's with the random road trip, and is Luke not coming" I started to cry "He called me another woman's name Jacob, some girl he used to date in college, apparently they went for coffee last week and he never told me" Jacob have me a hug and said, "Aww honey, I'm sure he didn't mean to" "I know but I still need to get a few days away to process." I know I shouldn't run but I don't know what else to do, "How did he take it" "I left him a note" is said sheepishly. "Katie, you left him a god damn note, how would you feel if he up and left and left you nothing but a note" I could see where he is coming from, "Well it's too late to change that now Jacob, let's just get going ok I told mama that would be there for supper. And if they ask where Luke is just say he is busy ok" We rode in silence to Prospect.

I knew Jacob was mad at me, hell I was mad at myself and to make matters worse I was still feeling sick.
Luke's POV
I got home about 6, Til and I had a good day. No catches but it was good. I stopped off at the florist and got Katie some flowers, I had some serious making up to do. While out fishing I couldn't get her off my mind, hell I love her so much it hurts. The house was quiet when I opened the door, I called out for Katie, "Baby, y'all home" There was no reply "Baby where are you" She must have went out. I went into the kitchen and turned on and there on the counter was an envelope addressed to me in Katie's handwriting, I started to cry uncontrollably, no, no she couldn't have left me, I'm nothing without her. I opened the letter and my worst fears where confirmed.....,,,she's gone
