Luke's POV
I decided that I can't go another night without Katie so I am currently heading south down the I65 towards Katie's hometown. I just hope she is happy to see me and it will also be the first I get to meet her mama.
When I pull up I notice that Katie's trunk ain't parked up out front, I hope I have the correct address. I got some flowers from the back of my truck and walked up into the porch and nervously knocked on the door. A woman in her early 50s answered the door,
"Omg Luke Bryan"
I laughed,
"Hi ma'am is this the Ryan household"
"It sure is sweetheart, I'm the housekeeper I will just go and get Miss Ryan"
I stood at the front door, shaking with nerves, what is wrong with me, I perform in front of thousands day in day out and I am freaking out over meeting my girlfriends mama.
Katie's mama came to the door,
"Oh my god Luke how are you, does Katie know that y'all are coming"
I handed her the flowers,
"No I decided to surprise her, just missing her. Here are some flowers for you ma'am"
I stepped inside the house,
"Oh she will be so happy to see you she has been upset, but wouldn't say way"
I didn't want to say anything about what happened so I replied,
"She probably just a little overwhelmed being back home 'n all"
Mrs Ryan led me outback into the porch which over looked a beautiful wooded field.
"Some view you have here Mrs Ryan"
She smiled and said,
"Oh its beautiful ain't it. So are you gonna stay tonight? Katie should be home anytime now, her in Jacob went to Elkton to run a few errands"
"Yeah I think I might if that's ok with you ma'am"
"Not at all"
We sat down and got to talking about Katie when she was younger, she even brought out old family albums it was great. I wonder how Katie will feel with me turning up like this.
