I limped to the nurse's room, with Sam walking pretty close. He was waiting for me to fall so that he could play hero, but that wasn't going to happen. My injuries weren't life-threatening. I sighed quietly. It really wasn't a surprise that Jayden had ran back to the pitch without a second glance, demanding everyone else to carry the game on. So, why the hell was I upset? Shaking my head, I decided being angry was a feeling that I was more comfortable with. So yeah…I was furious for the fact that he had made me fall and hadn't apologised. Oh, and don't forget that he had also insulted me senseless. I mean, come on, who could be that heartless? Why, Jayden of course.
"You want me to carry you?" Sam asked grinning a little to lighten the mood and the tension building in me. He seriously must have a radar or something to detect whenever I felt stressed or angry. There was no other way to explain his perfectly timed questions.
I smiled at him. "No thanks. I may end up breaking a few bones if you fell too."
He chuckled. "Why would I fall?"
"Well, from the way this day is going, I don't see it as impossible." I rolled my eyes and sighed.
He grinned and put a hand around my waist to turn me to a room on the right. "The nurse," he announced and opened the door with a light knock.
The nurse wasn't a woman in her mid-50s with salt and pepper hair. Nope. It was a he. And he was probably in his early 30s, and damn good looking. He had dark blonde hair that reached his shirt collar. His eyes were a brilliant green. His nose wasn't broken-always a thing I looked at. Don't ask me why. And he was about 6 foot 3, with lean muscles.
What were they thinking putting this god as a nurse in a school where I attended?! He looked edible. I tried to smooth my hair down and wished I had put some lip gloss on or something.
"Hey Sam. How can I help you?" Then as he spoke his eyes shifted to me and went down to my slightly bleeding, scratched knees. "Oh," he said and pointed to the chair. "Take a seat. What happened?"
I smiled at him and sat down, fluttering my lashes just a little. "I fell when I was running on the running track."
He smiled at the fact that I bothered mentioning that I had fallen on a running track. "Yeah?"
"Yeah. Because some jerk decided he'll kick a ball in front of me and make me trip." And there it went; that moment of calmness was once again replaced by my hatred.
The nurse's eyes gleamed with amusement but he didn't say anything. "It's not too deep. I'll just clean it and put a plaster on it. I'm sure you can go back to running in a few minutes."
"Good," I smiled. I really didn't want to sit on the bench and watch when the other girls were keeping themselves fit.
There was a light knock on the door and it opened slightly. Jewel stuck her head in, with Devon following closely. "Oh my God, Chy! I can't believe I missed your fall."
I chuckled. "Yeah…you missed the news of the week."
Sam grinned. "She probably did. It could get in the school newspaper."
My mouth fell open. "Is that how desperate our school journalists are, they would make my fall news?"
He laughed. "Yeah…I'm sure they would. Seeing as you're still considered as 'the new girl'."
I stared at him and finally managed to close my mouth. "Pathetic!"
"It's a good thing you weren't wearing a skirt," Sam announced, looking proud.
"Who the hell would wear a skirt on a running track?!" I asked, feeling more and more annoyed.
Jewel grinned and rolled her eyes. "Oh, stop teasing her, Sam. She looks so angry."
