The Body

We met with Lucy at the nighclub.

"Hey Lucy how you doing?"

"Good thanks....Im going to New Zealand for two weeks.....got some more work shifts....ANZAC Airlines"

"That's good.....what about Penelope?"

"Oh.....we are not together anymore.....she went off after that night we had the other day....she met a singer who was on tour....joined up with her"

"Sorry to hear that"

"Its fine.....I will find someone else"

"I hope so.....because you're an amazing girl.....and thanks for this opportunity"

Lucy looked from me to Aster......she seemed puzzled.

"I thought you wanted the job Christina?"

"I did....but Aster has better skills......as I found out last night"

"Ok well I will take you in to see the Boss.....if it all goes well...you may get a trial run this evening"

"That soon....brilliant"

Aster looked nervous.....she was unsure about taking her clothes off in front of other girls....I assured her that I would be there to steady her own nerves.

We walked into the building....all too soon we were sitting outside the office of the Nightclub owner.....then I heard a phone ring.....a rather cute receptionist picked it up.

"The three of you may go in"

I watched as Lucy and this girl began to talk and then she came over with her.

"Girls.....this is Tabitha.....she has been working the circuit for six months"

We shook hands with her.

"So who is the lucky girl?"

Aster put her hand up and I watched as Tabitha scanned her body from top to bottom....It made me feel a little jealous.

"Its ok.....as the lead girl I have to give my assessment to the Boss Lady.....and I think you will be a natural"

Tabitha followed closely behind us...she opened the door and we walked inside...the Boss of the club was known to both me and Aster....It was Gemma's mother.

She looked up at the three of us but didn't seem to recognise who we were.

"So Tabitha....who do we have here?"

"This is Aster who is auditioning for the part.....her girlfriend Christina....her friend Lucy"

At the mention of Aster her face shot up.

"Aster Powell?"

"Yes that's right.....do you know me?"

"Yes.....I take it you don't recognise me"

Aster looked long and hard at the woman and then realisation dawned.

"Beatrice Fenn?"

"The one and only".

"Im confused.....what are you doing in Australia"

"I haven't seen Gemma for months....but myself and my husband own several nightclubs around the world....I look after this one while he controls the one in Sydney"

"Your In the adult entertainment business"

"Yes but my side of the business is concerned with nightclub facilities....there are not many clubs exclusively for lesbians"

"I cant believe this"

"Have you seen Gemma?"

"Yes.....we saw her.....but its not good news"

"Oh....what happened?"

"She got in with some bad people"

"You mean Michelle Delaney?"

"Yes"

"Ive known Michelle for years.....she is a lovely lady....I take it you don't get on with her"

"We have had our differences"

"No matter.....anyway Aster....what brings you to Australia?"

She turned to me but I remained impassive.

"A new start"

"And you wish to be a pole dancer?"

"I would like to give it a go"

"Well your in luck.....my last recruit has just bailed out.....you make take her place for a trial.....you will show your moves to Tabitha and if she is ok then you will work alongside her this evening"

I turned once again to Aster.

"So you don't want to see a demonstration?"

"No....as I said....Tabitha handled that.....if she is happy then I will arrange a second interview with you to discuss hours....pay..etc...I can see you are a beautiful girl and will be a hit with the punters....so I look forward to seeing you very soon"
