Chapter 23 The Crescent Moon Tribe

When we finally made it to the dark moon tribe we were greeted by a very tall muscular man that resembled Jack in many ways. He had a staff with a Yin Yang symbol on the top and was decorated with the classic blue and gold twine. I already knew who he was before he spoke.

"Jack, I see you and Lily are safe," He then turned to me, "Lily it's nice to finally meet you I am Chief Burumun of the Crescent Moon Tribe." He extended his hand to me and I took it in mine

"Nice to finally meet you Chief Burumun."

Man that guy had a strong grip

"No need to be so formal you can just call me Burumun." Burumun smiled and I returned his smile with my own.

"Jack, show Lily to where she'll be staying please." Jack nodded and took my hand.

I blushed for a second at his sweet gesture

"Do you want a tour of the village?" he asked

I nodded, "Sure"

Then he showed me his father's hut which was to the north end of the village protected by many guards. Next he showed me the little hut he called home,

"Yours is right next door in case you need anything you can come by me or ask the guards. You are well protected here so don't be scared." Jack smiled at me and squeezed my hand I in return squeezed his hand and smiled.

Jack led me to a wide road through the forest that was lined with lanterns. Then there were many stairs that led to some sort of ritual type altar thing.

"Next we have the altar where the moon's rays penetrate the island, it's where we have our ceremonies. The next one is in a couple of months." he informed me

"Where's that one girl who you were arguing with the other day?"

"Probably in prison being closely monitored"

"Well that's good, Strider told me that some brown haired girl came to them and told me where I was. When he described her it sounded a lot like the girl you were arguing with."

Jack shook his head, "I can't believe she would betray me like that. Treason is a crime punishable by death she'll be executed publicly but you won't have to be there to witness her execution if you don't want to."

"Yah that's probably something I would like to skip..." I admitted

"Yah me too personally but as the chief's son I kinda have to be present." Jack sighed

"Well that sucks."

"Kinda, but being the chief's son has it's perks."

"Like what?" I asked

"Oh you know like being able to meet you before one of the scouts beheaded you."

"Yah that's probably a good thing since I kinda need my head."

We both laughed

"Well it is getting late why don't we head back."

"Okay." I agreed and we made our way back to the north side of the village where our huts were.

"Goodnight Lily."

"Goodnight Jack."

We said our goodbyes and I disappeared into my hut.

It was quite nice actually, there was a hammock with pillows and blankets to sleep in, a table and chairs, candles, windows, the main color scheme was, of course, blue and gold. I changed into the night clothes that were laying on the table and laid in the hammock. It was so comfortable I fell asleep almost immediately.
