Tobias' POV

I limp into the building, coughing when I breathe in the smoke, my eyes watering. There are ashes everywhere, footprints marking every spot on the floor. The building is empty, no visible signs of life.

I keep walking, making my way to the hospital wing on the other side of erudite. Luckily for me, all of the buildings have hallways that lead to the main building. The signs are covered in ash, though, so I go the way I went to visit Teigon.

The hallways become clearer as I walk, the walls perfectly white. I continue, but my eyes start to wander, and everything becomes blurry. I slam into the wall for support, the noise echoing down the hallway. As I stumble, I start to hear footsteps coming in my direction.

"Over here!" I shout, waving my arm a little.

The footsteps stop and my vision clears for the most part, showing a young woman in a lab coat. She takes out a flashlight, quickly checking my eyes.

"Come on, we need to get you in a room." she drags me by my arm carefully down the hall.

I can feel blood traveling down my calf as I walk, the wrap I made no longer working. Every time I take a step, pain goes up my leg and to my head, causing the slightest throb. I don't try to remove her hand, because she is keeping me from falling.

"Sit down, I need to see any major injuries you may have so I can treat them." She grabs a clipboard, writing a couple things down.

I don't say anything as I reach down and pull up my pant leg. I notice the dark bruising around the wound and look away.

"Okay. I am going to get a nurse over to clean the wound. This is pretty deep, so you will need stitches and no using this leg for a week. Are there any other wounds?" She writes more down, glancing at me.

"No, this is the only one. But I will need to use my leg. My wife is out looking for the person that bombed erudite, and my son is at home with a friend. I need to find her and make sure she's safe." I have a stern face and hard as I say this.

"I'm sorry sir, but I can't let you do that. What is your name?"

"Four. I'm married to your leaders sister."

"Alright," she looks up, locking eyes with me, "I understand that you are the main dauntless leader, and your wife is a leader along with her brother, but you cannot walk on this leg. It needs time to heal and I'm sure your wife can take care of herself." she gives me a sympathetic look and I roll my eyes, looking away.

"You can tell me what you want, but my family will always come first. Thank you for your willingness to help. Now can I please get the stitches?"

She sighs and nods, walking out to get a nurse. A couple minutes later, a man in his mid twenties walks in with a cart of supplies. I lean back on the bed, leaving him to clean the wound.

"Your wife will be fine. Tris is strong, there's a reason why she's a leader." I look up and see the guys back facing me as he fiddles with something.

" I know, but I can't lose her. She can protect herself, I know that, but I still feel the need to protect her." I close my eyes, relaxing into the bed.

"You're good for Tris. Caleb talks about how you treat her quite often, and I can tell he respects you."

"Caleb talks to you?" I ask lazily.

"Yes, I am his assistant when I'm not working at the hospital. My name's Fernando."

----------

I started school and got bored in class, sorry for the wait. I'll most likely be going to Salt Lake City Comic Con on Thursday, and I will be going to I Heart Radio Music Festival in Vegas in September if anyone that's going wants to meet up.
