The rest of the week passed by relatively quickly and quietly with no major incidences. I turned up to enough classes to not get caught ditching and the rest of the time I stayed in the toilets and texted the others whilst listening to my music. Zack and Rian didn’t reply much as they were the type who actually pays attention, but it was enough to keep a conversation going. Jack seemed a little distant with me and didn’t reply as often as he usually did and I tried to get him to tell me why.
Jaay, tell me what’s wrong?
S’nothin
Liar. I’ll come and make you tell me.
You won’t be able to form a sentence after I make you come ;) x
Dirty bastard. Y u make everything dirty?
Have you met me?
Unfortunately. Pls tell me. Or at least ditch w/ me I’M BORED AF.
In the middle of a lesson, I can’t just walk out.
What class? I’ll come save you Jacky
*rolls eyes* English
Shit. He hates me.
Give me 5mins to think of something n I’ll be there
Gd luck. He still hates you.
Not helping dude.
I muted my music and tucked my phone into my back pocket as I walked out into the corridor. I was hoping the walk to the classroom would be longer so that it would give me time to think of an excuse to get Jack out of the room, but it was the one time that our classes were actually close to each other and I found myself standing outside the room with a blank mind. I raised my hand and knocked on the door.
“Come in.” I took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
“Jack Barakat needs to report to the principal’s office immediately,” I announced to the room. Jack started to gather up his things while Mr Durrik asked me why he wanted to see Jack. Being the sarcastic person that I am and already having the teacher hate me was too much of an opportunity to wind him up some more.
“I don’t know Sir, I’m not the principal. I can’t read minds.”
“So how do you know that Jack needs to go see him?”
“I’m psychic.”
“You just said you weren’t.”
“I’m not? Then how come I know that Jack needs to go before he gets into even more trouble leading to a bigger punishment.” I smirked at Jack, who was now standing by my side waiting for me to grow up and leave, but I was having way too much fun with this. Jack smiled as he recognized my humor and what I was hinting at and judging from the looks of the rest of the class they all knew as well. The whole school knew about me and Jack and the way we were so close. Many of them thought we were a couple, some of them thought we were secretly a couple and the rest wanted us to be a couple. They also knew that we liked to cause mayhem and sat back and watched as it usually meant that they wouldn’t have to do any work.
“Listen Gaskarth, you can either tell me why Barakat has to leave my classroom, or you can join him in detention after school.”
“What did I do wrong?” Jack burst out before I could reply.
