Monday morning. I hated mornings in general because it meant getting out of bed, but Monday's were worse as it was the start of the week and signaled school was starting for another week. I groaned and rolled over knowing that my alarm was set earlier than it needed to be. After the fifth time I hit snooze, I thought I should drag my ass out of bed so I could get into the shower. I turned the water on and while the water was heating up, I striped down to my boxers and stared at my scarred body. My thighs were the worst but only marginally compared to my hips. My arms only had a few scars as I had started harming there a week before Jack found out. I ran my hand over some of the raised scars before removing my last item of clothing and stepping into the shower. A half-hour later and I was stood in front of the mirror trying to get my hair to sit in place but it was not willing to cooperate so I pulled it into a half decent style and walked out the door in time to see Jack pulling up out front.
"Hey Lexy," Jack greeted me with a smile and stroking my hair as though he were greeting a date. I didn't think twice of the action as we were often acting as if we were together. We weren't. I mean we knew each other inside and out and I loved him like a brother.
"Hey Jacky," I replied returning the smile and messing his perfectly styled hair up. Since we were in a car there was no way I could avoid the swipe of Jack's hand. We drove in silence for the most part of the journey but after five minutes I got bored and turned the CD on. When we arrived I jumped out and made my way to homeroom. The majority of the day passed uneventfully, with me excusing myself to go to the bathroom in every class just because I was bored and text Jack while listening to some music. By the last class I had spent more time in the toilets than in class and I was ready to tear my eyes out from boredom and just ditch, but to do that I needed Jack to drive me as he always gave me a lift to school. I knew that Jack had music and he liked that class, so I didn't get a choice but to go to art or stay here. It was tempting to stay here as I could communicate with my best friend and listen to my idols, but I knew I should probably actually turn up to a class before they get suspicious and call my mom. That's not something I needed to be dealing with. I wrapped up my headphones and as I was shoving my phone into my back pocket I walked out the door and down the halls to my art room. On the positive side at least it was art, a lesson I didn't completely despise, rather than something like math.
I walked to the back of the room and sat down in the corner and leaned back in my chair against the wall. I tuned out for the most part of the lesson and carried on texting Jack with my phone under the table.
Practice tonight? Round mine Jack text me.
Not sure, have to ask mom I replied.
Pls I'm lonely w/o you x
Stop trying to get in my pants Jack. I'm too good 4 u ;)
Oh please, I'm a pretty princess. You should be begging for me.
I smiled at his response and quickly text my mom asking if I could go to practice.
Guess I'll see you in 5mins sweetheart ;) x
It'll cost you ;) x
Kinky bitch.
I smirked at our humor. If anyone saw our conversations and didn't know us, they would think us completely insane.
I put my phone back into my pocket and sighed. We only had five more minutes so I thought I might as well look like I'm paying attention.
"Right now I would to assign your term project. I would like you all to create your family tree, but because you're not children anymore I don't want the usual last minute scramble to create some half-assed crap. I want something unusual, something creative. Something unique. This is due in three months and I want it too look like you made an effort please." The teacher told us staring at several of the students who never made an effort to even attempt to follow their homework. I would be in that group but my mom made sure I did mine when she knew I had it, so I found a way to keep her oblivious to most of the work that was set. I rolled my eyes and collected the various sheets that had somehow managed to get scattered around my table even though I had been on my phone the entire class. When I had everything I waited for the bell and walked out when it went off. I walked over to Jack's car and waited for him to turn up
