Lucia's POV

I have to present today. I'm usually nervous for things like this, but today is different.

I'm waiting for Mya at her locker because she's still not here yet.

"BOO" Mya shakes me.

"Wow, you really scared me" I laugh.

"You're no fun" she pouts.

"You have the PowerPoint?" I remind her.

"Luke has it. Don't worry Lucia" she smiles.

"Well I have trust issues, so I'm just making sure" I begin walking to class.

---

It's health class time and that means we have to present.

I impatiently wait for Luke to come to class. The late bell is about to ring when Luke comes rushing through the door.

"Geez, what took you so long" I huff.

"I had to run back to my car for the flash drive" he holds up the bright orange flash drive.

I sigh in relief when I see that he has the flash drive. I have trust issues. I don't trust anyone. Whether it be with secrets, projects, or even with myself.

Mrs. River always gives extra credit to the ones who volunteer to go first, so I already know I'm going to raise my hand when she asks for volunteers.

"Hello class. Today you guys are presenting. What group would like to go first" she begins to scan the room.

I immediately put my hand in the air.

"Miss Lucia and her group may go first" she smiles.

We all walk up to the front of the room. I take the flash drive and plug it in Mrs. River's computer.

I open the folder and click on "Mental Illness".

It pops open, and I notice that there's only two slides on it. One with our names and the next one that says "Mental illness is common among society".

Where the fuck are the other slides at?

I can feel myself about to freak the f.uck out now.

"Why isn't the PowerPoint finished!?" I whisper yell.

"What are you talking about?" Luke asks.

"We did 20 slides" Mya adds.

"Well there's only 2 slides" I huff.

Mya goes to the laptop.

"Oh, that's the wrong one. We saved it as "Health" the "Mental Illness" one was a practice one" she smiles.

I sigh in relief and feel myself relax again, only to freak out when the laptop blacks out.

F.uck. My. Life.

"Looks like your PowerPoint won't be of any use since my laptop is being weird. Just do a speech about your topic. I'll grade you guys off of that" Mrs. River smiles.

Great. I have nothing to help guide me.

We stand side by side to each other. I guess I'll start talking now.

"Our topic is about Mental Illness. Mental illness is something that is very common amongst society. Some of you may think that having mental illness means that you're "crazy" but that's not the case" I take a breath.
