Lucia's POV
Ethan already left because it was getting late. I sit on my bed with the picture in my hand.
What does this mean?
I'm going to ask my "parents" when I come home tomorrow from school. They have some explaining to do.
---
"Mya, I have something to show you" I take the picture out of my backpack and hand it to her.
"Oh my gosh! You were so cute" she admires the photo.
"So you agree, you think that's me" I ask her.
"What are you talking about" she asks confused.
"That's you holding miss Jade" she states.
"Mya, I don't think my parents are actually my parents" I grab the picture back.
"This photo is from my parents wedding day. That's my Aunt May, Uncle Frank, and cousin Hope" I point to all of them.
"I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding. Everyone knows photoshop" she laughs.
I ignore her comment and carry on throughout the day thinking about the photo.
---
I enter health class and sit down in my desk.
"Hey, how are you doing? Did you find out anything about the picture" Ethan immediately asks me.
"I'm doing alright I guess. I haven't ask my parents about it yet" I tell him.
"What do you think it means" he questions me.
"I think it means there's a family secret about to be revealed" I look down at the picture.
---
I walk through the front door of my home with Summer and Rick. They go straight to their rooms while I go to the living room to talk to my "parents".
"Mom, dad" I nervously sit down.
"What is it" my dad asks.
I hold up the photo in my hand and see the color drain from my parents faces.
"W-w where'd you get that" my mom says shocked.
"The attic. Now explain" I demand.
"Lucia, there's something that you should know" my dad speaks up.
"We're not your biological parents" my dad speaks in a whisper.
"What" I whisper.
I thought they were going to tell me that they had me before they got married or something but not this.
"You're not my daughter" my mom says with a snotty attitude.
Then it hits me.
"Is that why you always treat me like s.hit?!" I start to raise my voice.
"What are you talking about honey? We love you" my dad says confused.
"Cut the bullshit dad! You and I both know that mom has always been a b.itch to me" I glare at my mom.
"That's not tru-" my mom interrupts my dad.
"You're right. How could I ever love a child who's not mine? You're a piece of shit just like your biological mother! That's why she gave you to us because she knew you wouldn't be enough for her. You've always just been a burden to us" my fucked up mother barks.
