Angela:

"I made you tea," Claire said when I walked in the kitchen. She was sitting on the table with her own drink in front of her.

I thanked her as I took a seat across her. "Is Nathan still sleeping?" I asked.

"Yeah."

There was a lot of silence so I tried my best to keep the conversation going. "How are you feeling today?"

"Better."

"So did you talk to him?"

"Not yet."

"You're doing the right thing, Claire. He deserves to know the truth."

"I know, I just need more time to process what's happening."

I squeezed her hand and smiled, "He loves you so much, he won't do anything to hurt you."

"Yeah," she smiled in agreement, "I know it's been tough for you to live with us, and I'm sorry for dragging you into this from the very first beginning but you have no idea how grateful I am to have you around. I wouldn't trade you for the world."

"What are you talking about? I love being around you guys and watch Nate grow, you're like a family to me!"

Thirteen years ago I had my life planned out differently and even though it would've been a lot easier if I was on my own, I wouldn't have changed anything because I won a family that sticks by me no matter what and I would do anything for them.

The week passed smoothly and Claire and Nathan sorted things out between them with the promise that Claire will tell him soon about his father. Nate was satisfied with this and agreed to stop his little investigation and just wait until his mom is ready to talk.

Hunter stopped by the house so we can sign the contract and it was settled that I will start working at his company on Monday. I have to admit that I'm a little excited for this job because I was never incharged of something so huge like a company so maybe this wasn't such a bad idea.

I was in my office staring at the papers in front of me. "Seems like Smith Miller is involved in shady business," I thought, "Interesting." I wonder what else I could find.
