~Karabo's POV~

The day of the Olympic Heats had finally arrived and Ally was more nervous than ever. I understood why, I mean it is her first Olympics and she doesn't want to ruin this for herself. But she needs to calm down. Boithuto, Isaac and the rest all seem calm about this, although its Boithuto's first Olympics too. She's just calm cause she'd overconfident. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but c'mon. It has it's pro's and con's.

Ally was done getting ready and so was everyone one else. So we entered the van and headed off to the Olympic stadium.

The seats were packed with nations of the world, but it was so obviously dominated by the Japanese and this was their home.

Ally still looked nervous so I walked up to her. She was standing with Boithuto warming up for their races. Luckily they weren't in the same heat, or Ally would have just withdrawn from this. Boithuto has always found a way to make herself look better than Ally, but in my eyes, Allyson was perfect. From head to toe. My reason of coming over was to calm her down. I knew she could do it, it was just about time she started believing in herself.

"Allyson?", and that's when the most beautiful girl in the world, turned to look at me, with her hazel eyes and brown to black hair blown by the wind. Her hair's natural and tswana. 4c type. Look it up on google or something, it's real!

"Karay," she responded.

I pulled her in for a hug.

"Calm down. Whatever happens, you'll be fine."

"What if I get knocked out right here? What then?"

"We'll all still be happy you tried."

"But you won't be proud,"

She had rendered me speechless. But she continued,

"Karay, you just don't understand. If I lose, I would have disappointed all those people in Botswana, I would have disappointed my team, my parents. Karabo, I would have disappointed you. I just can't live with that. Knowing that my best just wasn't enough."

"Listen, you'll never be able to disappoint me, or your parents. The fact that you made it in the team should be something to be proud of. Many Batswana would have loved to be in your shoes. What your feeling, is just you being nervous. Ally, how could someone like you ever disappoint me? Your best, will always be enough to us."

"Someone like me?"

"Someone who never gives up, who always sees the good in people. Who sees the light during darkness, who gives hope when we're hopeless. You need to believe in yourself. Just like how I believe in you."

With that I sank my hand into hers and winked at her. She rested her head on my shoulder and that's when Boithutho came into the conversation and tried to ruin the moment.

"What about me Kar?"

"Boi, you'll be fine too. And besides, your not as nervous as Allyson."

I noticed, she was trying to give me a unique nickname, but I just didn't like it. It's only enjoyable when Ally did it.

"But she's a nothing. She obviously isn't going to make it."

That's it, I've had just about enough of Boithuto.

Just then, I could feel Allyson warming up, her eyes were going red with tears.

"Allyson is great, she's amazing. She brightens up everyone's life, and she's the girl I'd never want to lose. Boithuto, you need to simmer down and understand that your just like anyone else. Ally is a magnificent runner, and she'll do great in these 200m heats." I shifted my eyes towards Ally and continued, " Ally Mogotsi is great."

My cheeks just turned red. I was furious but I was blushing, I let out a smile and looked at Ally.

"Thank you," she whispered, "I'd never want to lose you too."

Those words, they just kept echoing in my head. 'I'd never want to lose you too'. She said that with just sincere-ness. I could see the honesty in her eyes while in Boithuto's I could see the pain. She didn't hide it very well anyway.

I had always had a feeling that there was something dark about her that no one knows, but she's never gotten attached enough to spill. Not even to the person she calls her 'best friend'.

I had decided to go to the stands and cheer Ally and Boithuto from there, it wouldn't draw a lot of attention towards me.
