~Boithuto's POV~

I could feel it. Pain. I think that's what they called it, pain. I haven't felt this in years.

I despise Ally. Not because of the attention drawn to her by Karabo, but because she gets everything. I worked so hard to reach where I am, and she didn't even seem to break a sweat. She already has 2medals from the World Championships, while I have 3 and I've been to 5, she's only been to 2. Now here we are, at the Olympics, and I'd be surprised if she didn't win at least bronze in this 200m race.

"All 200m runners, please get ready, your race begins in thirty minutes!" the hired man called out.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the one person I hated the most, Allyson. She was walking up to me, ugh, damn.

"Boi, are you ready?" She asked.

"A little nervous, but I'll be fine." I tried to add my sassy tone.

"I know you think Karay doesn't care, but he does."

"I don't even care, if he does or not."

"What?" I could see her boiling up and trying to hide the tears in her eyes. She cared a lot of Karabo, but I just couldn't see what she sees in him.

The only solid reason I have for showing some form of interest was to make him fall in love with me, then use him to gain popularity in the world. If I was dating the third fastest man in Southern Africa, that would sure gain me some attention.

Besides, it seemed fun. Using him, he didn't deserve happiness. I mean his own father left him when he was younger, clearly he's to difficult to care about.

"C'mon, Allyson, I know you don't care about him either."

"What are you talking about? Of course I do."

"No, you don't. If you did, you wouldn't be doing this to him. Your just a jerk, and I seriously hope you lose this race."

"Your wrong. I care about him, and I don't understand what you mean, but I also know, that I'm not gonna lose this."

"Bet on it. You make him feel some typa way, and he does the same for you. But you won't even show him the same affection and level of love that he shows you. Dammit Allyson. You can see it by the way he looks at you. Like your the only thing that matters to him. Now, your just confusing him. You seem to give him the impression that you don't give a damn, then other times, you seem to look at him the exact same way. Make up your mind dammit."

"Boithuto, I-I-I never knew you could be so insightful and say something meaningful."

"I used to have that too. It changed me, it broke me. It destroyed me, it crushed me."

"Are you saying that will happen to me too? Would be the best thing for you huh?"

"But it built me too. I'm not saying anything Allyson. It can go one of two ways. It can be the best thing that's ever happened to you, or the worst."

"Why are you being so nice to me?"

"I'm not. But I'm not gonna lie to you either."

I got up and walked away. I needed to focus on my race. I knew that what I had just told her, would mess her run and she wouldn't be thinking straight. She would then blame it on either me or Karabo, or herself. But which ever she chose, I wouldn't really care. She'd be out, that's all that mattered to me.

~25 minutes later~

The commentators had started calling out our names one by one as we ran off into the track to get to our stations. My heat was Heat 2. I was watching the heat 1 racers warm up. They all looked promising and super fast. This was definitely gonna scare Allyson. Her heat was heat 4. It was the second last heat.

"On your marks... Set...." And then I heard the sound of the gun firing and immediately knew they had started. Only the first three made it to the semi-finals by right, then they would choose 3 fastest losers to join them. Then in the semi-finals, they'd pick the first 2 to proceed to the finals by right and 2 fastest losers would join them.

~ Just before my heat~

"Nervous?"

A familiar voice came back from behind me.

"Isaac. Geez, you scared me."

"You okay?" He looked so concerned.

"Yeah, I guess."

"NEXT HEAT RUNNERS, AT THE EXIT POINT NOW!"

"I have to go Isaac, wish me luck" I smile and skip off.

I ran out into the track, and ran my hardest. I gave it my all, but held back a little.

Third position was fought for, I have no idea if I got it or if Jenny Chase from the USA got it.
