~Allyson's POV~

I can't believe he just walked away. Better yet, I can't believe he actually wanted me. After spilling my guts to him, and pouring out my now crushed heart. I tried to focus more on my race and less on Karay.

It had been an hour since he departed my life like it was nothing. His only reason being that he was too old for me, and I had a lot on my plate. Why would he blame my plate? I mean, it's not my fault I get hungry a lot. See what I did there?

I paced back and forth, trying to revert my thoughts back to the race that started in now less than an hour.

Thirty-five minutes to be exact. I had twenty more minutes to warm up, before they would call us out, and we would be sitted just behind the door that led us to the track.

I was warming up, and getting my starting method, all in check. Suddenly, I could feel everyone looking at an 'eye-catching' site apparently, since all runners had stopped. I tried to see what they were looking at, but immediately regretted it once I saw who it was.

It was the same boy that crushed me, over an hour ago. The same boy that was supposedly too old for me. He was walking up to me, and even though I was furious, I could still feel the butterflies in my stomach.

"Coach says to not forget to do the special warm-ups and calm down. He says that you'll do just great out there." The voice of the angels man spoke up and smiled.

How could he smile at a time like this? And even though I wanted to rip his guts out, his smile still looked wonderful to me. How can someone to infuriating still be so amazing. Ugh.

"Great, my foot. Clearly he wasn't watching my earlier race. 100m is even worse. But tell him I said thanks, yeah?" I responded calmly, not wanting to cause a scene.

So, I turned away.

"You'll be fine, Ally. Stop worrying so much. I'll let him know. Good luck out there," He walks away.

Obviously he didn't want it to be awkward, so he didn't mention the way he so graciously ripped out my heart.

He walks so nicely. Cool, with his hand in his pocket and the other one swinging on his side. I knew he was heading to the stands, cause when he left, the official had just told us to get to the tracks. My heat was the very first one. I was more nervous now. Worse was that, if I lost, Boithuto wasn't here to try and at least make it possible for us to get to the finals. Everyone else was a long distance runner. And these short distances made them woozy.

I headed to the tracks, and jumped around, to wake up my feet in case they decided to fall asleep. I didn't need that. Sitting in the crowd of people in the stands was Karabo, Tumelo, Lame, Bonang and a old lady. Behind them was Isaac, Leruo, and Boithuto. Boithuto seemed relaxed than usual. Her arms were resting on Karay's shoulders. Obviously trying to get him into her clenches. But as much as Karay had instantly turned to hating me almost seconds after he confessed to me, he wouldn't go as low as to go out with Boithuto.

I walked up to my starting blocks when the official with the gun called out "on your marks".

The entire stadium was making noise, so we got up again. After a few seconds we went back to the starting blocks and got ready another time.

"On your marks."

He paused.

"Set"

Another pause, before firing the gun and we were off. I started off slow trying to keep my speed, after learning a lesson from my humiliating defeat earlier today in 200m.

I gradually began to pick up speed, after realising I was sixth. I refused to lose, I continued picking up speed, as if I was doing some Usain Bolt items.

Big names everywhere, Elaine Thompson, Emily China, Hyu-go Chang, and many more. But other big names were in the other three heats.

The race was heated and intense, much more than the earlier one.
